Bruce Willis retires from acting

Bruce Willis has been gracing our TV screens. For most of us, we have actually grown with him, and he was our favorite action actor (for many of us, anyway).

Unfortunately, just last year, in March 2022, the public came to learn the 67-year-old guru decided to retire from acting because he has aphasia. This is a cognitive disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate. Often, it develops in people who have suffered a stroke.

Filmmakers described a very painful picture in an attempt to explain what Bruce had been going through and why it was important that he step away from the industry. It was reported that Bruce was really struggling with remembering his dialogue and according to several sources, he would be told his lines through an earpiece coz otherwise, he would have a hard time remembering them.

For those scenes that involved choreographed gunfire, they had to use stunts as a substitute for Willis. It is hurting, to be honest. That you were once able to do stuff by yourself and had a good command of language and communication and now, all of a sudden you cannot remember what you had for breakfast. It is heartbreaking, and I can only imagine what goes through his mind whenever he catches a glimpse of his old self.

I hope and pray that he finds peace and that with the living family he has surrounding him, he will never forget how much he is loved.

This story rather makes me appreciate life to the fullest and thank the heavens for the gift of good health and a sound mind. It’s a blessing in itself. So never take it for granted. Quit complaining about what you do not have and take a minute to appreciate your good health.

The older I get, the more I appreciate what a good gift health and just happiness are. It is a huge blessing, and most of us take it for granted.
