San Antonio must be the happiest place right now coming from the latest comments by the French Phenom Victor Wembanyama.
The San Antonio Spurs are based in San Antonio and they are the lucky NBA team that will have the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft set for June 22, 2023.
Getting the first pick gives the Spurs the upper hand to land the projected number one pick Victor Wembanyama. This is great news for the Spurs who are looking to revamp their squad.
Victor is projected to be the number one pick in the upcoming draft and the buzz surrounding him has been second to none of the previous NBA prospects.
The buzz around Wembanyama has been compared to that LeBron James got back in 2003 and this coming twenty years later just shows how this type of talent rarely comes around.
Victor stands 7’4″ tall, has an 8-foot wingspan, and shoots the three-point arc with accuracy. He is well-known for his ability as well as his overall playing style.
Victor’s alien-like height will undoubtedly make it easier for him to complete tasks that other players will find difficult.

This is good news for the San Antonio Spurs and it comes when the Spurs need a revival of some sort.
The Spurs last won an NBA Championship in 2014 and it has been a long drought of trophies as the struggling team hasn’t been able to even qualify for the playoffs since 2020.
Wembanyama’s words serve as a promise to the franchise and they surely need a miracle to be back at the top of the table with Wembanyama dubbed as a ‘savior’ perhaps it is time to embrace victory again.
Like the San Antonio natives, this news also gives me chills to imagine Wembanyama winning an NBA Championship in his rookie year and we will just have to wait and see if it comes to fruition.
