As reported by the Catalan News, Miquel Zaguirre, the vice president of the Barcelona Pastry Guild, stated that the character ‘Goku’ is making a resounding comeback due to the profound nostalgia felt by fans after hearing the news of the manga great’s passing.

Despite the significant increase in the prices of ingredients – with chocolate prices skyrocketing by 55% due to the global surge in cocoa costs, eggs rising by 30%, sugar by 16%, and butter by 10.3% – the ‘Mones’ will not see a price hike this year, as reported by the Catalan News.

However, Miquel does not rule out a potential increase in 2025.

While many bakeries strive to captivate customers with their magical chocolate figurines, the best-sellers remain the traditional ‘Mones de Pasqua’ – sponge cakes topped with chocolate eggs, retaining their dominance as the quintessential Easter treat.
