Victor Wembanyama to Utah Jazz?
With the draft day getting closer, teams are preparing to get the best new talents possible which could change the landscape of the NBA forever.
Although the Rockets, Pistons, and Spurs have the best chances of winning the first overall pick in the 2023 draft at 14% each, the Utah Jazz can still hope to land Wembanyama who is the projected number 1 overall pick.
With a 37-45 record at the end of the season, the Utah Jazz were ranked 12th in the Western Conference.
The Jazz will have a 4.5 percent probability of selecting first overall, a 4.8 percent chance of selecting second overall, a 5.2 percent chance of selecting third overall, and a 5.7 percent chance of selecting fourth overall with this record.
Going up against the Rockets, Pistons, and Spurs who have a higher percentage, the Jazz will look out for the best opportunity to land Wembanyama.
Their latest moves have shown how interested they are in signing Wemby as their CEO Danny Ainge was seen at the courtside during Victor Wembanyama’s game.

The Jazz CEO was present at the French League match between Wembanyama’s Boulogne-Levallois and Gravelines Dunkerque on Sunday, April 30 and for sure he was impressed by Victor’s performance.
The 7’4” Frenchman has been quite sensational in the French league as seen by the numbers he has been putting up. Wembanyama is the clear favorite to earn season MVP because he leads the league in points (21.5), rebounds (9.9), and blocks (3.1).
Additionally, with a 19-10 record, he has contributed to the Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 position in second place in the league.
During the game, there is no doubt that Danny was impressed by Victor’s play. In 33:43 minutes, Wembanyama scored 24 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, had four blocks, and provided three assists to help the Metropolitans 92 cruise with a win of 80-68.
It was quite obvious that Wemby was poised to impress since he is in exceptional form since the season began. His blocks, dunks, vision, and scoring skills keep improving and this is something that keeps attracting the who is who in different franchises all over.
It is not a mysterious thing to see so many scouts flock to a match where Wembanyama is playing, especially now that he has declared for the NBA.
The prospect of Wembanyama landing in Salt Lake City is something fans are looking up to and some can’t hide their excitement at the thought of it.
One tweep in a reaction to a Wembanayama clip where he completed a put-back dunk tweeted, “That dribble package gonna look so sick in a jazz uniform.” These fans are just waiting to see if Wemby will be rocking the purple mountain jerseys come June 22, 2023, and the anticipation couldn’t get any hotter.
Wembanyama’s fate will be decided come draft day but for now, we have to wait and see how the lottery plays out slated for Tue, May 16, 2023, whereby teams will determine their fate in the draft order during the NBA draft.
