Metropolitans 92 Edge Out Paris For A Sweet Victory During Victor’s Final Game Before NBA Draft

A farewell game couldn’t be sweeter for the French phenom as he is set to join the NBA come June 22, 2023. Wembanyama led his team to cruise nicely past their derby opponents.

Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 side won 93-85 against Paris Basketball which meant the season finale for both the team and Wembanyama.

Paris fell to the much stronger Metropolitans 92 who had failed to win their last game against Cholet Basketball back on Friday, May 12, 2023.

After a spirited first half between the two powerhouses, Metropolitans got the best of Paris in the second half with Wembanyama finishing the game with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists to lead them to victory.

Tyron Wallace’s attempts to salvage a victory for Paris were deemed futile against the much stronger Metropolitans as he finished the game with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Paris finished the season in 9th place which is a poor finish for the budding team with talented youngsters.

Despite the sorrow Paris got, it was a highlight for Victor Wembanyama who is set to join the NBA come June 22, 2023.

Victor has been in red-hot form the entire season as he finishes the season having led the league in points, rebounds, blocks, and minutes. He has averaged 21.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.1 blocks per game the entire season.

This is music to San Antonio who will be looking to pick him come June and the fans can’t wait to see how he performs in his new basketball chapter.

Wembanyama’s last game attracted stars from different walks of life who wanted to take a glimpse of the phenomenal French prodigy one last time playing in France.

Watching Victor on his final game in France was a to-do list for French international soccer player Kylian Mbappe and French actor Omar Sy who were seen arriving to watch Victor hoop.

Filled with over 4,000 fans in the arena, it was truly a big event in France, and what a way to say goodbye to a national icon that Wembanyama is.

Mbappe and Omar Sy coming to watch Victor is a true gesture to appreciate the greatness Victor possesses and how he is set to be a very influential individual in the sports world.

Wembanyama has stated his admiration for Mbappe and he even said that he draws inspiration from the 2018 World Cup winner.

Talking to PSG TV, Wemby said,” Of course, for many years. I realize that we have a lot in common.He is one I relate to a lot. Kylian is the player who inspires me the most, but I want to be original and chart my own path.”

It is a good thing to learn from other successful players and since they are both professional players, a lot can be shared between the two. Inspired by Mbappe is important to Wemby who however looks to carve his original path in his way.
