Keren Peles is an Israeli songwriter, singer, and pianist. She was born on 11th March 1979 in Yavne’el, Israel. Her parents are Doron Peles and Mirriam Peles.

Peles specializes in Pop and Rock genres kind of music. She also plays piano and works with Hed Arzi, a popular music label in Israel.

She started her music career in 2005 and is a popular figure in international pop music culture.

1. Keren Peles albums were Gold Certified

Keren released her debut album (If this is life) in July 2006. The album was a success and sold over 20,000 copies in its first year. 

She was also nominated female singer of the year (2006) by Galgalatz and was named Israeli singer of the year by the Israeli radio stations.

In April 2008, she released her second album, mabool(flood), which hit the top music charts in Israel and was certified gold. 

2. Keren is a Graduate of the Rimon School of Jazz

Keren graduated from the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. In 2005. 

Rimon School of Music is a contemporary music school in Ramat Hasharon, and It is the largest professional school for advanced study of Jazz R&B, Rock, and Pop music in Israel.

The school was started in 1985, by a group of graduate Israeli musicians to make modern music well known in Israel.

She became a household name in Israeli music circles after she wrote hit songs for Miri Mesika and Shiri Maimon. 

Miri Mesika is an Israeli singer and actress, and. She has won several Israel’s Female Singer of the Year awards. 

4. Keren was Married for one Year

Keren Peles married website developer Tomer Grencel in June 2009. The marriage lasted for one year and separated in 2010.

She is currently not married but has a life partner, Noam Tor with whom they have two children together.

Naom Tor is an Israeli model, famous for his role in the film Banisko (2009), Survivor Israel (2007), and a series Hayom BaLayla (2015)

Keren is an actress, she is well known for her role in the film (The Dinner) which was released in the year 2020. She also starred in Kochav Nolad in 2003 and Shemesh in 1997.

The dinner was a film by Matti Harari and Arik Lubetzky, which introduced Keren Peles to her first feature film role.

Keren was also one of the main characters on a comedy TV show series (Shemesh), which aired between 1997 and 2004.

6. She released a duet with Harel Skaat

Harel Skaat is a celebrated musician in Israel who represented his country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. 

A multi-linguistic, he has performed live shows in Hebrew, English, and French. He has been singing and performing in public since he was a child.

Together with Keren, both graduates of Rimon School of Music released one of Israel’s all-time favorite duets in 2006. The song was nominated for the 2006 song of the year

7. She wrote Songs for Boaz Mauda

Keren Peles has composed and written songs for top Israel musicians, among them is a pop sensation Boaz Mauda.

She composed and wrote his debut hit single (Oreakh baoulum) for the album (Boaz Mauda) which was released in 2008.

Boaz Mauda is an Israeli singer and songwriter, who won the fifth season of (Khokhav Nolad) the Israeli pop idol show.

He also represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, finishing in 9th place.

 8. US Secretary of  the State Shared her Song

One of Keren Peles’s songs became an international sensation after it was shared by the US secretary of the state in December 2021.

On one of his social media platforms, John Blinken posted the song as his favorite song by an Israeli pop star.

9. Keren Peres Peformed Alongside IDF

 Keren performed alongside  IDF combat soldiers on April 7th, 2020, which she shared live on her youtube channel.

In Israeli traditions, it is considered to be a big honor to perform alongside active IDFcombat soldiers, and only a few Israeli artists have managed that fete.

IDF-Israeli Defence forces are combined military forces of the State of Israel, consisting of three branches, the Israeli Ground Forces, the Israeli Air Force, and the Israeli Navy.

On 16 April 2013, Keren Peles was chosen to sing a special duet with the president of Israel Shimon Peres.

President Peres hosted a “Singing Independence with the President” event to celebrate Israel’s 65th Independence Day. 

Singing Independence with the President” is a traditional event that is organized annually to celebrate the Independence of Israel.
