35 Most Famous Bible Verses

Bible verses are famous because of the role they play in the lives of Christians. They are used by preachers to encourage and more importantly, to convince the non-believers that the bible is a true reflection of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In addition, famous bible verses speak to the brokenhearted to give them hope. They also are to let the non-believers become Christians.

The most common that is almost known by everyone in a dispensation of the prosperity gospel is  Malachi 3:10 regarding what God said about tithes and offerings. Also, John 3:16 posits that God gave his only son for the sake of the world. Romans 8:28 indicates that whatever happens to an individual, it is for good because God loves them. In addition, again another verse in the book of Romans 12:2 encourages Christians not to conform to the pattern of the world but rather, to be transformed by the renewing of their minds.

The verses quoted in this article are extracted from the New International Version of The Holy Bible.

1. Malachi 3:10 Do Not Rob God

This verse says: Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty,” and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. This verse encourages Christians to give their tithes and offerings because God rewards them. It is a very powerful verse that many property gospel preachers use to persuade their congregants to give to the church. More importantly, it reminds Christians that giving is mandatory as referenced in this verse.

2. Matthew 7: 7 Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. This is a very powerful verse in the bible that focuses on prayer. Ask means once you pray and ask God for whatever need you have, once you seek him most sincerely by knocking at His door, he will answer the prayer request.

3. Matthew 19:14 Let the Little Children come to me

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” The children were very important to Jesus and when the disciples were pushing them away from him he asked them to come to him and that they should not be hindered. Jesus also said the little children belong to the Kingdom of God which He represented.

4. Matthew 19:5 About Marriage

And Said, “For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one Flesh.” Man and wife are meant to be one according to this verse. 5. Matthew 19:6 Two are Better than One

So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. In every marriage, a team of two is better than one because two help each other in paying bills and kitchen chores as per the biblical word in Matthew 19:6.

6. Matthew 19: 26

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Jesus understood what his disciples were about to ask him in disbelief of his parable of who should enter the Kingdom of God. In Matthew 19:23 he said, “A rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

7. Isaiah 54:17 No Weapon Against you Shall Prevail

No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is a symbol of faith and trust in God’s power. 8. Isaiah 42:9 Forget the Former Things

See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you. In the verse before, God told Isaiah that He is the Lord and that He will not have His glory exchanged for anything else, hence, He is the omniscient of everything.

9. Isaiah 40:31 Renew the Strength

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. The five verses hardly make sense without one another hence, this chapter is very important once it is written together.

32. Psalm 95 Sing for Joy to the Lord

In the Anglican church, this psalm is recited as the congregation comes together to worship God every Sunday. They fellowship with thanksgiving in their hearts for the gift of life. The psalm is inseparable as it makes more sense once put together. It is therefore, they are very famous verses. They are as follows:

1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. 3 For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all goods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our maker; 7for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice 8do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massahin the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. 10 For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.” 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, “They shall never enter my rest.”
