When it comes to celebrity loss, their fans always look up yo them. They find their content a way of conneting to them and ven understanding them better. That’s why when celebrities pass on, fans and families feel the loss all the same. Some of these celebrities will forver be remebered and their deaths were the most upsetting throughout history. So who are they? Her’s a list of celeberities who died and though gone, they will never ever be forgotten.
1. Tupac
Born Tupac Amaru Shakur, he was the most talented and creative rapper in the history of hip-hop. He died in 1996 after succumbing to multiple gunshot injuries and his death affected people so much because of how his music gave hope and a sense of identity to so many young men at the time. His music is still celebrated to date and when looked at critically, you can clearly see how talented he was especially in rhyming words and making them sound poetic yet he’s addressing serious societal issues like racism and police brutality.
2. Notorious B.IG.
B.I.G. was another iconic rapper who ironically passed away a year after Tupac. His death was surrounded by too much controversy especially because he was heavily beefing with Tupac at the time. He was a talented rapper still and many of his fans have always termed him as the most iconic rapper in the hip hop industry. Similarly, just like Tupac, Notorious B.I.G. left a huge gap in the industry.
3. Aaliyah
Aaliyah was way ahead of her time. Be it her beauty, her charisma, stage presence, fashion sense, way of singing, everything. She was ahead of her time because of the raw talent she would always demonstrate and it is no surprise that she earned the nicknames, “Princess of R&B” and “Queen of Urban Pop after being recognized for redefining contemporary R&B, pop, and hip hop. She was also an actress who did a phenomenal job in the movie, ‘Queen of the damned.’ She was quite talented and it is quite unfortunate that she died in that 2001 plane crash that spared no one.
4. Whitney Houston
Without a doubt, Whitney Houston sounded like an angel every time she opened her mouth to sing. That is probably an exaggeration but Houston was a phenomenal singer. This is why it is really not a surprise that she was the recipient of so many awards, recognitions, and nominations throughout her career. The 1992 movie ‘The Bodyguard,’ also proved what a talented actress she was, and the song she sang for that movie, ‘I will always Love You,’ sealed the deal of her being an amazing vocalist. It is unfortunate that she died in 2010 due to an apparent drug overdose and watching her beauty and charisma fade away over the years due to drug abuse has got to be the most heartbreaking thing in the music industry.
5. Tina Turner
With her signature sequin mini dresses and strong stage presence, Tina Turner wasn’t nicknamed ‘Queen of Rock n Roll by mistake.’ What’s more impressive about Tina is how she rebuilt from the ground up to become the phenomenal and iconic singer we know today. Being a victim of domestic violence, Tina went through a lot but finally emerged as a winner. She passed away this year in May and every time the songs ‘What’s Love Got to do with It,’ and ‘Simply the Best’ starts playing, her memories will continue to live on.
6. Cheslie Kryst
Born in 1991 As Cheslie Corrinne Krys, she was the epitome of beauty and success. It was so unfortunate to hear news of Cheslie dying in the most horrific of ways, where she jumped down a building and, killed herself. She had so many accomplishments and successes and that’s why the news of her suicide came as a shock to so many. She seemed so well-adjusted and put together. In addition to being an attorney, she was also a very popular and liked TV correspondent, a model, and a beauty pageant title holder, having been crowned as ‘Miss USA, in 2019’ and a nominee for two Daytime Emmy Awards. Her death made mental health advocacy be done more vigilantly and understanding that anyone, rich or not, beautiful or not, can be affected by it.
7. Princess Diana
Princess Diana of Wales was the princess of the people. She was loved for her witty sense of humour, beauty, and kindness to every person she met. She was quite involved in activism and goodwill, always trying to help out the poor and this is why people, old or young all loved her. Her glamour made her an international icon and the enduring popularity that is still there to date. Her tragic death in 1997 hurt so many and everyone in Britain grieved her death. Watching her sons unfold into charismatic men following in her footsteps has however been rewarding.
8. Elvis Presley
Elvis was a popular rock and roll singer who took the world by storm all through the 50s and 60s. He was popularly known as just Elvis and he was rightfully given the nickname ‘King of Rock and Roll’ given how talented he was. He died in 1977 due to a massive heart attack. 9. Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss
Popularly known as Twitch, Stephen Boss was a talented dancer and entertainer who was also a former contestant in ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ He died in December 2022 at age 40 and left behind a young family. His death came as a shock to the reality of how bad mental health can sometimes get. In a heartbreaking statement, his wife made a statement to confirm his death. This is what she said:
“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children. Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
10. Kirstie Alley
Kirstie was an Emmy winner who unfortunately died in December 2022 after battling cancer. She was 71 years old and was popularly known for her role in the sitcom, ‘Cheers,’ for which she received an Emmy award and a Golden Globe in 1991. After her death, her family shared a statement through her Instagram account that said,
“We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce, and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered. She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”
11. Ray Liotta
Ray Liotta was iconic simply put it. He got his first attention in his role in the film, ‘Something Wild,’ which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination. He unfortunately died in May 2022 and the last notable movie he did before dying was the Sopranos prequel, ‘The Many Saints of Newark,’ which aired in 2017. He did very well in it and that’s why he will always be remembered. Due to all the notable works, he did. The good thing though is that he died peacefully and painlessly in his sleep.
12. Bob Saget
In January 2022, this popular Full House alum was found unresponsive in his Florida hotel room while he was in town for a comedy show. He was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities one month later concluded that he passed from head trauma after accidentally hitting the back of his head on something. His onscreen eldest daughter from the same show, Candace Cameron Bruce, noted that:
“Every day it feels a little bit better, but then it’ll hit you outta nowhere. I will really greatly miss his friendship and the laughs and the hugs.”
13. Betty White
Popularly known for her role in Golden Girls, Betty White hands down had a very successful career in Hollywood. She died in 2021 which came as a shock to many of his fans because she was almost turning 100. She would have reached this milestone in January 2022 but fate had other plans. It was confirmed that the cause of her death was tissue damage because of losing blood flow to the brain, and this was caused by a cerebrovascular accident Betty had suffered. She had also suffered a stroke days prior to her death.
14. Willie Garson
Willie was a ‘Sex and The City,’ alum who passed on in September 2021. It was later confirmed that he died as a result of pancreatic cancer which he had been battling for a while. His former costar of the same show, Cynthia Nixon tweeted at the time of his death:
“So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson. We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship, and show business lore. He was a consummate professional — always.”
15. Norm Macdonald
Norm was a comedian who died in 2021 at age 61. Later on, it was relieved that Norm had battled cancer for nearly 10 years before succumbing. He kept it a secret because he didn’t want it to affect the way audiences and fans viewed him. He will always be remembered as ‘The Saturday Night Live’ alum and this comedian with a deadpan way of delivering his jokes. To explain more about his death, his longtime producing partner, Lori Jo Hoekstra stated,
“He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him. Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.”
16. Dustin Diamond
Dustin was popular thanks to the popular show, ‘Saved By Bell’ which he did a phenomenal job in. He died at only 44 years old in 2021 after being diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. Seems like he could have been in a lot of pain but it didn’t reach that level. His rep stated that,
“In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”
17. Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick’s death came as a surprise to many because of how unexpected it really was. He became so popular and famous after his role in the ‘Black Panther,’ and thanks to him, all black people felt greatly represented when it comes to superhero stories. He was really admired by many and his charisma, and cheerful smile always warmed people’s hearts. Both colleagues and fans. He had been battling colon cancer for four years before succumbing and his resilience is demonstrated in the way he persevered through it all. During that time, regardless of all the pain and chemos he was doing, he still managed to do major films that became a success after they premiered. Chadwick will always be remembered.
18. Naya Rivera
Naya Rivera was a former Glee star who died in July after a freak boat accident that made her go missing for a while. She was declared missing after taking a boating trip with her 4-year-old son on Lake Piru. The story wasn’t really quite adding up because it was once said that she jumped in to save her son and then died but authorities reported that her son was found asleep in the boat alongside Naya’s purse, wallet, and ID. Her body was recovered later.
19. Kobe Bryant
Kobe was a well-celebrated former L.A. Lakers player who died in 2020 following a helicopter crash. He was traveling with his 13-year-old and eight other people who also died. It was quite a sad ordeal because the whole sports community was hit hard by the death of this legend. Witnesses reported that the helicopter went down quickly and slammed into the ground. He will always be remembered as the GOAT as far as basketball games are concerned.
20. Cameron Boyce
Cameron was so young and had a whole life ahead of him at the time of his death. He was only 20 years old and passed away due to a seizure he experienced while sleeping because of an ongoing medical condition he was being treated for. He will always be remembered for his role in ‘The Grown Ups,’ and his bright smile and freckles that made him stand out and beautiful will forever linger in people’s minds. At the time of his death, this statement was made to indeed confirm that he had departed:

21. Luke Perry

24. Kate Spade
Kate Spade was an iconic fashion figure who died in 2018. She was found in her apartment after committing suicide. She was 55 years old and her work in the fashion industry helped create such a difference in the New York fashion scene. Her designs are still remembered to date.
25. Avicii
This very talented and popular Swedish DJ indeed left a mark in the music industry. His real name was Tim Bergling and he was only 28 years old at the time of his death. Due to health issues and battling with acute pancreatitis, Avicii retired in 2016 and it is said that he was in a lot of pain when battling with his health challenges. The Grammy-nominated artist will forever be remembered for his tunes in-house genre that never, ever grows old.
26. Mark Salling
This is another Glee alum who died too. He was age 35 when he passed and the authorities confirmed that it was through suicide. Salling had pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography just three months prior to his death and he was facing a 7-year jail sentence. He didn’t get to face his jail term but it was disappointing to see such a talented actor go to waste like that because of wrong choices.
27. Tom Petty
Tom Petty was a rock legend who died at age 66 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was an icon in his own right and even won a Grammy for his notable works in the hits, ‘Free Fallin,’ and ‘American Girl.’He was the leader of the rock bands, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Mudcrutch and in all these, he never disappointed. In 2002, he got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
28. Chester Bennington
Chester was the lead singer of the popular band, Linkin’ Park. He was only 41 years old at the time of his death and he was quite a talented singer. This is why people, especially fans of the band were quite upset. He reportedly died from suicide while at a private residence in Los Angeles. His throaty voice and amazing vocals are something that he will always be remembered for. Plus his wit and kind nature.
29. Chris Cornell
The frontman for the band Soundgarden by the name Chris Cornell died in 2017 at age 52. This was after the band had managed to play a totally soldout concert in Detroit. He was found dead by a family member in his hotel room. His cause of death according to The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office, his cause of death was “hanging by suicide.”
30. Florence Henderson
Florence Henderson was the ‘Brady Bunch’ alum who died at the age of 82 in 2016 due to heart failure. It was revealed later that she had suffered a heart disease for quite a long time and five years before her death, she had been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat. Unfortunately, she succumbed eventually and passed.
Death indeed leaves a mark and the death of all of these icons reminds us that it is not the ‘Brady n easy thing to get over, leave alone accept it.
