Gearing up for summer, travelers to and from Prague can rejoice in new destinations, new carriers, and increased flight capacities as announced by the Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. The carrier released its summer flight schedule to take effect at the end of March 2024. Travelers will enjoy the 167 destinations that Prague Airport will serve this summer.

More than 10 new connections will be available for travelers including popular holiday destinations. Such as Italy’s Brindisi, Izmir in Turkey, La Palma in Spain, and Ponta Delgada in Portugal. Other new direct connections will be to Astana, Tallinn, Florence, and Verona.

East Midlands in the UK, Dubai World Central, Chișinău, Poznań, and Tashkent are more options among the new destinations unveiled for this summer.

Travelers will enjoy more flight frequencies added by Prague Airport to its thirty routes. Such as London, Antalya, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Barcelona, Oslo, Marseille, and Copenhagen.

Existing carriers like Qatar Airways will increase their weekly flights and capacity between Prague and Doha. Korean Air will make a comeback to fly between Prague and Seoul with a high-capacity Boeing Dreamliner.

Visitors will have more choices of carriers to fly as five new companies are set to join the Prague Airport scene this summer. These new carriers will be Qanot Sharq Airlines, SCAT Airlines, FlyOne, Arkia, and KM Malta. A total of 68 carriers will offer services in the Prague Airport.

The airport looks forward to surpassing its record-high 2019 service in the coming years. Prague Airport’s aviation executive director, Jiří Vyskoč, commented: “We expect to handle over 16 million passengers throughout this year, …we are technically speaking at 100 percent of the 2019 figures.”

Future Plans and Current Updates

Besides the current achievements, Prague Airport has plans underway for long-haul routes to Asia and North America. These discussions will see the carrier leverage tourism and business travelers. Negotiations exist to operate regular connections to New York, Beijing, Bangkok, Hanoi, and Delhi.

The airport notes that the war in Ukraine has led to one and a half million passengers short and lack of sixteen destinations from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Belarus.

Also, passengers departing from Prague airport will pay a little more than last year. This follows a slight increase in departing passenger fees that will take effect this summer. Airport officials cite the 5.8 percent increase as a below-average margin among most famed European destinations.
