My “Blazing Star” smoothie was nice and thick and not too sweet. So why the unique spelling of mangeaux (which is pronounced mango)?  “Our cuisine is French creole and neo-soul,” part-owner Brown-Renfro explains. “The creole is the E-A-U-X and it makes the ‘O’ sound. We wanted to be able to differentiate the mango preserves from the bistro.”

This beautiful black owned eatery in Hampton presents more delicious ways to eat well and have fun with your family. From “Curby Cocktails” to cookies kids can decorate to a new game called dinner entree bingo, Mango Mangeaux is making sure a little cheer goes into every recipe. The portions are huge and the staff is professional and courteous. The French toast is done with actual French bread and will probably be the most delicious French toast you will ever have. The buttermilk pancakes were ginormous, and one order can be shared by two people.
