Cengiz Coskun was born on the 29th of April 1982. He is a Turkish television and film actor. His family heritage is ethnic Turks who immigrated from Bulgaria to Turkey. His parents were simple and had menial jobs.

He branched out to chase his passion to work in the media industry. He made his debut in debut in the Fetih 1453 and appeared as Giovanni Giustiniani in 2012. He is popularly known for his role as Turgut Alp in the TV show Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

1. He is a television and film actor

2. Cengiz played basketball in school

Coskun’s interest in basketball started in their first years of secondary school. He often played in tournaments and soon won the Ülkerspor’s auditions. Ülkerspor was a Turkish professional basketball club that was founded in 1993.

It was based in Istanbul and competed in the Turkish Basketball League and played its home games at the Abdi İpekçi Arena.

The club was sadly dissolved in 2006. Cengiz had played there for 7 years before he was transferred to Erdemir Ereğli Spor.

He remained there for 2 years and later played for 1 year at Balıkesir DSİ Spor. He finally graduated from Marmara University, sports department in 2008.

3. He worked as a professional model

After graduating from Marmara university Cengiz was recruited to become a professional model.

Because of the well-built physique, he had attained while playing basketball he quickly rose to fame in the modeling industry.

He even went ahead and competed in modeling contests. He won in 2002 and got even more popular appearing and modeling for more companies.

He soon after ceased modeling after he was cast in the series Rüzgarlı Bahçe. He has now become a professional television and film actor.

4. In the film Fetih 1453, It is rumored to lose the lead role because of his blue eyes

Coskun made his grand debut in the film Fetih 1453. He had starred as Giovanni Giustiniani a Genoese captain and member of one of the greatest families of the Republic of Genoa.

Giovanni Giustiniani was also a kinsman to the powerful house of Doria in Genoa and a protostar of the Eastern Roman Empire.

Cengiz had initially auditioned for the lead but was denied due to the color of his eyes. He could not portray the sultan in the film due to his blue eyes.

5. He competed in the reality show Survivor Turkey

Survivor Turkey is the popular reality show Survivor adopted in the country. It was created by Charlie Parsons following a similar format as the American Survivor, but with some differences.

It was first released on the 22nd of March 2005 and has been active since. It was temporarily on hiatus in 2007 due to production costs but was brought back three years later. Cengiz Coskun competed in the show but did not win.

Coşkun was born on the 29th of April 1982 in Istanbul. His ethnic heritage is Turkish. His family had immigrated from Bulgaria to Turkey.

Diriliş: Ertuğrul, is a Turkish historical fiction and adventure television series. In English, it is translated as Resurrection: Ertuğrul and was produced by Mehmet Bozdağ.

The show is set in the 13th century and is based on the life of Ertuğrul, the father of Osman I. He was the founder of the Ottoman Empire.

The show aired for five seasons until 29 May 2019 and was filmed in Riva, a village in the Beykoz district of Istanbul. Cengiz Coskun played the character Turgut Alp The character in the Turkish TV series Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Kuruluş Osman.

The character is based on one of the companions of Ertuğrul, the father of Osman I.

After ceasing his modeling career Cengiz started acting. He got training from Şahika Tekand. Şahika Tekand is a Turkish actress who has appeared in more than fifteen films since 1987.

She received her Ph.D. in 1986 after graduating from the Fine Arts Faculty, Department of Theatre and Acting at the Dokuz Eylül University.

She holds workshops to train young actors and actresses. Cengiz joined her workshops and later on appeared in the series Candan Öte, Doktorlar, and Hicran Yarası.
