1. Ngo Thanh Van

Ngo made her debut as an international act in a television show Rogue that aired on AZN Television in 2004.

It was an MTV Asia and MediaCorp Singapore production. The 13-part late-night show was widely aired in Asia and Australia.

As she was promoting the television show she also worked on her music and recorded her third album.

She was voted as the favourite actress in the show on the MTV Asia website.

She is also a talented music producer. She produced her album that had several genres in it.

Ngo is very popular in Vietnam and always appears among the top 100 weekly updates of popular artists in Vietnam.

She was listed as number 41 above some of the best actresses in Hollywood.

She has acted in several movies such as After my way, Saigon love story, 2 in 1, and The Rebel.

Ngo also took part in a Vietnamese Version of Dancing with the Stars and won the first season.

She made her Hollywood debut in 2016 as an assassin in the Chinese-language sequel Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.

In 2019 she was featured in a Vietnamese action film Furie that became the highest-grossing domestic film in Vietnam. She was later selected to be part of the jury in New York Asian film festival.

3. Navia Nguyen

Navia Nguyen was born in Saigon, South Vietnam and grew up in New York City.

She later moved to London to study at St. Martin’s College of Art.

While studying in London, she got spotted by a photographer while running her errands in Camden Town.

Later in 1996, Navia made a first appearance on the Pirelli Calendar and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue of 1997.

She was the first Asian to be featured on these calendars.

Navia also got nominated as one of the 50 most beautiful people by People magazine.

She has also modelled for big fashion houses like Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Fendi, and Christian Dior, GAP and Tommy Hilfiger.

Her supporting roles in movies include memoirs of a Geisha, Hitch and in one episode in the Television series Sex and the City.

She retired in 2009 from both acting and modelling. She is the proud owner of a beauty spa in Bali where she lives with her daughter.

3. Truong Ngoc Anh

Truong Ngoc Anh is the other Vietnamese actress whose name has been shortened to TNA.

She is a celebrated actress, model, singer, businesswoman and humanitarian.

She was born in Hanoi then moved to Saigon by herself in 1992 aged 16 to chase a modelling career.

This career path was rewarding because she won first prize for several contests.

As luck would have it, she got spotted through modelling by Le Cong Tuan Anh who gave her a role in the movie Em and Michael.

This role earned her much more praise and she got more interesting roles in Television series Gia Tu Di Van, Dong Tien Xuong Mau, Giao Thoi, Ngon Nen Hoang Cung, Luc Van Tien, Khi Dang Ong Co Bau and Hat Mua Roi Bao Lau.

After she got married in 2005, she was featured in two more movies; the White Silk Dress that got her the Golden Kite award and Sai Gon Nhat Thuc in 2007.

She took an eight-year break to take care of her only daughter while also being active as a philanthropist and judging modelling contests through her advertising company.

In 2011, she returned to the movie set in a movie Pearls of the Far East.

In 2014 she produced the film Huong Ga-Rise that earned her a second Golden Kite award.

She has produced other television shows such as Truly Sat, Saigon Bodyguards, and 200-pound beauty.

4. Nammi Le

Nammi Le was also born in Saigon. When she was about 3 months old, her parents took her and her older brother on a boat to flee the country.

After a dangerous voyage on the sea, they safely landed in Malaysia where they got help from the locals by burning the boat to avoid being turned back by coast guards.

After a few months in a refugee camp, the whole family was flown to Sydney Australia where they live to date.

While in school, Nammi became interested in painting as well as on academics too.

She studied Commerce at the University of New South Wales and worked for the auditing firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers for many years after graduating.

She was offered a leading role in an independent Australian film Ra Choi.

The film was shown in many film festivals such as the Sydney Film Festival and the London Australian Film Festival.

She later flew to Europe and went back to her previous art of painting.

She got to appear in the movie Careless Love and one of her self-portraits got featured in the film.

5. Lana Condor

Lana Therese Condor is a Vietnamese-born American actress. She made her movie debut in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), portraying Jubilation Lee / Jubilee.

She is a 23-year-old actress who was adopted by American parents as an infant together with Arthur Robert, her brother although not by blood.

She grew up in Illinois Chicago then later moved with her family to Whidbey Island in Washington when she was seven years old.

She took up dancing class in Washington; she went to two; the Rock school of dance education and the spectrum Dance theatre in Seattle.

When she turned 11, her family moved to New York where she continued with her ballet training in the most prestigious ballet school; Joffrey School of Classical Ballet Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Her parents played a big role in encouraging her to try acting as she showed natural talent. She studied at the New York Film Academy.

They later moved to California for her sophomore year in high school. This move got a place in the Los Angeles Ballet.

It was during her senior year in high school that she went for her first of several auditions. One landed her a role in X-Men: Apocalypse.
