Cartoons have a way of making science enjoyable and approachable despite the fact that it can be a difficult and complicated subject. Cartoons have over the years presented us with a wide spectrum of humorous and enduring cartoon scientists, from the bright but eccentric Doc Brown in “Back to the Future” to the outlandish creations of Dexter in “Dexter’s Laboratory.” Through their outrageous experiments and bizarre creations, these characters have not only amused us but also imparted valuable knowledge to us about science, technology, and our surroundings. 1. Dr. Emmett Brown from “Back to the Future

The fictitious scientist Emmett Lathrop Brown, Ph.D., also known as Doc Brown, appears in the Back to the Future film series. He is credited with creating the first and second-time machines in the franchise’s fictional universe, the first (counting in accordance with his own chronology) being built out of a 1981 DeLorean sports car and the second employing a steam locomotive. Dr. Emmett Brown was ranked number 20 on Empire magazine’s 2008 list of The 100 Greatest Cinema Characters of All Time.

2. Dexter from “Dexter’s Laboratory

The protagonist and major character of Dexter’s Laboratory is Dexter, a young genius with a hidden lab. He is the family brains due to his brilliance, and he is also one of the best inventors ever, having invented innumerable strange and astounding gadgets and experiments. Dexter is portrayed as a brilliant and talented scientist who is frequently busy with his research and creations. He strives for excellence in all he does and is quite proud of his scientific accomplishments.

3. Professor Farnsworth from “Futurama

Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth is a fictional character in the American animated television program Futurama. He is frequently referred to in-show as either Professor Farnsworth or just Professor. He is the creator and proprietor of the 31st-century delivery service Planet Express. Professor Farnsworth is presented as a clever but forgetful, eccentric, and frequently absent-minded physicist. He created several things, such as the Fing-Longer and the Smell-O-Scope, but many of his creations had unforeseen repercussions.

4. Rick Sanchez from “Rick and Morty

One of the two titular characters from the Adult Swim animated television series Rick and Morty and the subsequent franchise is Richard Daniel “Rick” Sanchez. He’s a bright, odd, and alcoholic scientist who created a portal rifle that lets him travel between other universes and realities. Rick is portrayed as a mad scientist who frequently acts carelessly, nihilistically, and without regard for the repercussions of his decisions. He constantly finds himself in perilous, chaotic situations, frequently involving monsters, aliens, and other strange occurrences. Rick is extraordinarily knowledgeable and resourceful, frequently outwitting his adversaries and escaping situations that look hopeless despite his seeming disdain for his own safety.

5. Jimmy Neutron from “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

The 2001 American computer-animated science fiction comedy movie, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius was created by Nickelodeon Movies, O Entertainment, and DNA Productions and released by Paramount Pictures. Neutron is an aerospace engineer, physicist, astronaut/astronomer, biochemist, computer programmer, and architect who is known for his unusual gravity-defying haircut and absurdly high IQ of 210. He is regarded as one of Retroville’s and perhaps the show’s universe’s most knowledgeable individuals. 

6. Phineas Flynn from “Phineas and Ferb

One of the two main characters in the animated television series Phineas and Ferb is Phineas Flynn. The A-Plot of every episode features Phineas along with his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher. When they were younger, Phineas and Ferb were playing in the backyard when one of Doofenshmirtz’s inators struck them. Phineas and Ferb’s IQ was greatly raised by the inator, enabling them to create the kinds of inventions and structures they accomplish. Phineas is a hopeless optimist who always sees the good in things. 

7. The Brain from “Pinky and the Brain

The Brain is an animated cartoon character from the Animaniacs television program. Later, he co-starred with Pinky in Pinky and the Brain, their own spin-off animated television series, and even later in Pinky, Elmyra & The Brain. The brain is extremely brilliant and creates Rube Goldberg-style designs for planetary dominance. Many fan theories have claimed that Pinky was in fact Pinky & The Brain’s hidden genius, but this is untrue.

8. Dr. Robotnik from “Sonic the Hedgehog

In the Sonic the Hedgehog series from Sega, Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik serves as the primary antagonist. He is a genius with a 400 IQ who utilizes his knowledge to create various devices. Eggman is a cunning mad scientist who wants to rule the world and create his own empire in the main series of video games. Although he has undergone a number of significant and small physical transformations throughout the series, his in-game designs still feature a number of his fundamental features, like his ovoid body, red-black-yellow color scheme, onesie, bald head, and a thick mustache.

9. Dr. Julius Hibbert from “The Simpsons

A recurring character on The Simpsons, an animated sitcom, is Dr. Julius Michael Hibbert the benevolent, brilliant, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine-educated family physician of the Simpson family. He is also a member of Mensa. Although he presents a friendly and caring front, he is frequently painted as being avaricious and lacking in empathy. His trademark behavior is his frequently inappropriate laughter, which is typically prompted by tragedy rather than by something actually funny.

10. Dr. Nefario from “Despicable Me

Dr. Joseph Albert Nefario, better known by his stage name Dr. Nefario, is the secondary tritagonist of the Despicable Me film series. He lives in Gru’s underground lair and works in his laboratories as Gru’s gadgeteer. He creates and constructs the majority of Gru’s machines. Gru is still regarded as “one of the greats” in the world of supervillains by Nefario, despite the fact that he has reservations about his goals owing to a lack of resources and his newly discovered affection for his adoptive daughters. 

11. Dr. Krieger from “Archer

Dr. Krieger is a beloved character among fans of Archer, and as the agency’s chief scientist, he participates in many memorable events. He has contributed to 13 seasons of Archer, and each episode he is a part of has a memorable moment for the program. Krieger is without a doubt the most brilliant main character on Archer, even though he doesn’t always employ the most traditional techniques and may have acquired his intelligence from his father, a former Nazi. Even though some of the show’s comments are dubious, profane, or otherwise awful, Krieger has some humorous ones.

12. Dr. Cockroach from “Monsters vs. Aliens

Dr. Cockroach, a mad scientist who is half man and half cockroach, is unquestionably the brains behind this enterprise. He’s the go-to tech man for Team Monster because he’s a brilliant scientist and tenacious innovator. He was a scientist who created a device that would enable people to live like cockroaches. However, as he entered the machine, he changed into a hybrid of human and cockroach, and together with Insectosaurus, B.O.B., The Missing Link, and Ginormica, he was imprisoned in a monster-only facility.

13. Dr. Simon Barsinister from “Underdog

The primary antagonist of the 2007 movie Underdog is Dr. Simon BarSinister. Simon is an expert at developing tools that he can employ to defeat anyone who would oppose him, including the police, the U.S. Army, and especially Underdog. Once the dog messes up his plans and destroys his lab, Barsinister wants retribution.

14. Dr. Wily from “Mega Man

Dr. Wily is a posthumous adversary in the Mega Man Zero, Mega Man Zero ZX, and Mega Man Legends series as well as the main antagonist in the traditional Mega Man series. He also serves as the main antagonist of the Mega Man X series and also has a supporting role in Captain N: The Game Master as the antagonist. He is a smart and knowledgeable scientist who used to be Dr. Light’s college friend and opponent in his quest to rule the world. He accomplishes this in practically all of his appearances by recruiting a horde of Robot Masters to help in his schemes, which are consistently thwarted by Dr. Light’s creation and Wily’s archrival, Mega Man.

15. Professor Membrane from “Invader Zim

Professor Membrane is the tritagonist in Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus and one of the series’ most significant supporting figures. He is the father of Dib and Gaz, but due to his status as one of the most well-known and significant individuals on Earth, he does not spend much time with his children. The Professor, as he is commonly referred to, rarely spends time at home. As a result, he supervises his children through a floating monitor that frequently plays pre-recorded, frequently out-of-date reminders.
