William Henry Gates III, commonly known as Bill Gates, and born in 1955 in Seattle, Washington, is an American business mogul and software developer. He is famous for co-founding Microsoft Corporation which is one of the world’s largest and most influential technology companies.  

He is also a philanthropist and has a foundation that focuses on healthcare and reduction of poverty. He also endeavors to provide education and access to technology.

This William has been consistently ranked among the wealthiest individuals in the world and has also been a vocal advocate for issues such as climate change and renewable energy.

4. William the Conqueror 

William the Conqueror (1028-1087), born in Falaise, Normandy, France, and was also known as William I or William the Bastard, was a prominent guy in the medieval era. He became the first Norman King of England when he claimed the English throne, asserting his right based on his distant blood ties to the previous English monarch, Edward the Confessor.  

After he won the Norman Conquest of England, defeating the English forces at the Battle of Hastings in October 1066, William ascended to the throne and ruled until his death.

William Edward Burghardt Du Bois (1868-1963) was an American sociologist, historian, civil rights activist, and writer, who was the first African American to earn a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1895. He was one of the most influential intellectuals and leading figures in the fight for civil rights and racial equality in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. 

Du Bois was born and raised in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and spent all his life fighting against racial segregation, lynchings, and racial inequality till he passed on in Accra, Ghana.

William Ruto, born in 1966 in Eldoret – Kenya, is a Kenyan politician and the current President of Kenya since September 2022. This William has been an influential figure in Kenyan politics for many years. He started as the treasure for Youth for Kanu in 1992, a political campaign group, before he was elected as a member of Parliament in 1997.  

From 2002 to 2010 he served as a cabinet minister in different dockets including Home Affairs, Agriculture, and Higher Education. In 2013, this William was elected as Deputy President on a Jubilee Alliance party ticket with Uhuru Kenyatta as president.
