Born in 1947 as Carlos Humberto Sanatana Barragan, he is popularly and simply known as Carlos Santana.  He is an American guitarist who became popular and rose to fame in the late 60s and early 70s. He formed a band named after himself, known as Santana. The band mainly pioneered a fusion of rock and roll and Latin American jazz. He was among the first musicians to bring fame into this kind of genre and making Latin music be appreciated more. In 2015, Rolling Stone listed him at number 20 in their list of the 100 greatest guitarists. In the span of his career, he has won 10 Grammy awards and 3 Latin Grammy Awards.
