Adhir Kalyan is a South African actor who is well known for his major role as Timmy in the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement. Adhir was born on 4th August 1983 in Durban, South Africa.

His family is of Indian South African descent. The mother of Adhir, Santosh Vinita “Sandy” Kalyan, was a member of Parliament in the South African National Assembly.

Adhir’s mother represented the Democratic Alliance party. He studied at Mark-lands school in Durban before he relocated from South Africa and moved abroad.

Adhir participated in several productions in South Africa and also participated in theatrical adaptations of several plays and films. He might not be the most appreciated actor, but his participation in movie-making is to be highly regarded.
