He was appointed as the 40th Vice President by Richard Nixon in 1973 and after the president resigned, he took over. He did not manage to get the full-term position. 4. Wade Anthony Boggs

Boggs is a retired professional baseball third baseman. He spent 18 seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily with the Boston Red Sox. He also played for the New York Yankees, and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He won the 1996 World Series with the Yankees over the Atlanta Braves. He retired in 1999 after sustaining a knee injury, leaving with a career batting average of 328 and 3,010 hits. He is 33rd on the list of career leaders for batting average among Major League Baseball players with a minimum of 1,000 plate appearances and has the highest ranking of those still alive. He also was elected to the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.

He ended up in prison after getting with the wrong crowd. In prison is where he found Islam. After prison, he became a distinguished activist. He met his end by assassination during one of his public addresses.
