Elize du Toit is a British actress of South African descent best known for playing the role of Izzy Davies in the serial opera Hollyoaks, which ran from 2000 to 2004 and had a brief comeback in 2007.

She was born on February 21st, 1980 in Grahamstown, South Africa. In December 1994, Toit relocated to Berkshire, England, where she attended Wellington College and finished her A-levels, with As in English, French, History, and Art History.

She was also a part of Reading’s Progress Theatre. Later, she enrolled in the Edinburgh University Theatre Company while majoring in history at the University of Edinburgh.

Toit fought out 40,000 applicants to land the role of Izzy Davies in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks following an open audition.

 She achieved her greatest fame playing the role of Izzy Davies in the serial opera which ran from 2000 to 2004 and made a brief comeback in 2007. After spending four years filming in Liverpool, she departed the show in 2004.

2. Most of her formative years were spent in Pretoria 

Du Toit is the second of her parents’ four children. Her father was an orthodontist, while her mother was an artist.

Prior to her family relocating to Berkshire, England when Elize was 14 years old, she spent the majority of her early years in Pretoria, South Africa.
