About this tour

Enjoy a guided walking tour of Rome as you sample the local cuisine and street food. You will meet your guide at Piazza del Biscione then go to a local charcuterie for some Italian cured meat and local wine. Your next stop is Supplì, the popular and delicious street food in Rome. Your guide will share information on how the delicious rice was first created in the 19th Century and how it earned its name. You will then go to Roscioli, run by the founder’s grandchildren, for some Menabrea beer and Roman pizza.

Your next destination is Rome’s old Jewish Quarter, the Roman Ghetto. Depending on what is available in season you may taste some carciofi alla giudìa (deep-fried artichokes), or traditional zucchini flower fritters. Your tour will wind up with a pleasant artisanal gelato at Punto Gelato. This is near Largo di Torre Argentina, the site of Pompey’s Theater and four ancient Roman Temples. Taste the exclusive northern Italian flavors at a gelateria that made it to Gambero Rosso’s list of the Top 10 best gelato in Rome.

This tour offers the options of a small group tour or a private experience for your group.

Had a fantastic time on this tour, we were expecting to just go between places for a bite to eat but it was a full historical tour so we learnt a lot about the area whilst travelling to each stop, and the food had a story behind it too! Very pleased overall!
