What's in our tour?
On this tour, you will not just visit Notre Dame, you will experience what makes it such a special church. Then you will venture where ordinary tourists don’t go: the medieval back-streets behind Notre Dame.
We start right at Notre-Dame. We take in the spiritual power of the building, and we analyze how the architecture creates that magic. We observe the craft, and the artwork: quirky, scary, and inspiring intricacies.
After that, we venture into old Paris – and away from crowds. We spend time discovering the river banks, and the island where Paris was born. We find spots for unconventional photos. We observe how people live on the island.
We step into the ‘forbidden city’ and we discuss the legends – true and false – of old Paris. We survey the Court of Miracles. We follow Quasimodo the Hunchback. We re-live the consuming love of Heloise and Abelard. We walk the garden of the religious city. We take in the atmosphere.
Our free tour of Notre Dame ends where it began: in front of Notre-Dame. We bid a final farewell to the world’s greatest Gothic church.
To see more on this tour, we do not spend time going inside each building.
