What's in our tour?
The Shoreditch London Street Art tour is the creation of an active member of the London Graffiti scene. Not all graffiti is negative, Greg S. wants to educate and help people understand this art form, and its suprising role in rejuvenating city districts and in bringing communities together.
Greg S. is very active in London, where he helps create art districts in London by speaking to owners of properties and taking control of those walls and inviting street artists to paint beautiful colourful murals in the run down neighbourhoods which helps bring tourism and generate a better economy for the people of that district.
Greg will be traveling to Beijing to the International Arts festival in 2016 where he will be working alongside some of the biggest Street Artists in the world and ones on the verge of becoming internationally known – Roa, Vhils, Mr Cenz, Fanakapan, Dank, Jim Vision. Not only will he be demonstrating his work in Beijing, he will also be giving a presentation to the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Art on the origins of graffiti and how this art form has evolved over the years and its place in today’s society.
East London, home to now-coveted Brick Lane and Benglatown, has been the creative and artistic centre of London for the last decade, known for its creatives, PopUps, hipsters and Indian food.
Every street you walk is covered with spectacular Street art and Graffiti which has contributed to transforming this once Victorian slum to one of the greatest open air galleries in the world. International Graffiti and Street Artists are constantly changing the way this part of London looks.
In the last few years Shoreditch has transformed from one of the poorest neighbourhoods in the United Kingdom to a thriving and vibrant community that people love to discover.
Finally, this exploration of East London/Brick Lane is made complete by a visit to a pioneering community project: a garden built by volunteers helping provide a community space, vegetable beds and an event area – and of course walls covered with great art.
We wind our way through the old Victorian cobbled streets stopping and searching for the newest and freshest pieces of Graffiti and Street Art. If you want to see a Banksy we know where to find them. We shall introduce you to over 40 different artists and explain the techniques, methods and instruments used to create one of the worlds greatest outdoor galleries. No doubt on this tour you will see variations of art forms: 3D, Murals, Posters, Writing, Sculptures, Stencils, Fine Art, Cartoon, Photorealism it’s all over the streets of Shoreditch.
We have designed this tour to take in some of the latest trending street food and PopUp stalls. We know how difficult it can be to find a good coffee or choose the right place to eat, especially in Shoreditch with so much happening. Depending on what and where the latest PopUp will determine where we take you for sampling street foods.
We do not finish the tour until we visit the Nomadic community garden, where you get to explore and to meet the people behind this innovative, change-inducing project.
