About this tour

Hygge is about taking time away from the daily rush to be together with people you care about – or even by yourself – to relax and enjoy life’s quieter pleasures. The word hygge dates back to around 1800. This walking tour is designed to help visitors understand Danish culture, food, history, and politics. On the tour the guide will give you details about the city that you wouldn’t read in your city guide book. Imagine getting historical detail and cultural context about life in Copenhagen from a Copenhagener – what could be better.

It is laid back and well-paced tour to ensure that it is not tiring. The guide aims to show you a lot of great spots that are secret gems rather than regular tourist haunts. It is the perfect way to get to know the city before branching out on our own. The small group makes the experience intimate with the added advantage of making new buddies. The tour also includes delicious pastries and a hot beverage in a Hygge cafe to wrap things up. The Departure Point is Krokodillegade 21, 1326 København, Denmark. In 3.5 hours you will learn more than you if you walk  alone the whole day.

I enjoyed this tour a lot. We were lucky to be guided by Amanda, who is the most friendly guide possible and provided us with loads of interesting information about the city, it’s main attractions and the danish concept of “hygge”. It was supposed to be three hours, but the time flew so fast! So do yourself a favour and book this tour, you will not regret it! Just one more thing: consider skipping your morning breakfast before the tour 😉
