About this tour
Start this tour to the countryside by taking a ride on a ferry that takes you over some of the most stunning views of Waterland, just outside of Amsterdam. You will hardly believe that the countryside is such a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You pass along the green pastures of North Holland and through typical Dutch villages some of which still have houses with the traditional green wooden facades. . Cycle through wide paths along old fishermen’s villages and past historical farms with enough cows and sheep to feed your eyes on the whole day. Take it slow at the Zaanse Schans museum village, a collection of well-preserved historic wooden windmills, houses and workshops. Your guide will then take you to an authentic Dutch cheese farm where you learn how cheese and clogs are made. Don’t forget to bring your camera, you will cherish the memories forever.

We booked the e-bike tour because we wanted to see the countryside outside of Amsterdam. This tour did not disappoint! We had a small group (maybe 10 riders) and we were able to stop and learn from Aldo all about the rural area we were biking through. Aldo took time to provide history on the area but also allowed us time to take pictures and enjoy the sights. The cheese shop at the end was wonderful and welcoming. Our trip took longer than the 3 hours – but personally we were very happy for that. It was all around perfect. So amazing to experience the Netherlands outside of the city as well. Highly recommend this over a city tour and highly recommend Aldo! 🙂
