Paris in September

Here are five amazing things you can do in Paris in September

1.) Evening River Tour

As the summer tourists are mostly gone, you can appreciate the city without the usual touristic crowds. You will then see many Parisians enjoying one of their favorite spots: the River Seine. If you wish to discover the mysteries of the Seine, go on a free guided walking tour at sunset with a local guide. You will truly enjoy this Evening River Walking Tour.

2.) Louvre Museum

The biggest and most famous museum in the world is definitely an absolute must during your visit to Paris! In the Louvre Museum you will find an amazing collection of art and historical pieces, including one of the most famous masterpieces in the world: Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Do not miss the controversial Glass Pyramid at the entrance, which you should admire from the outside as well as the inside.

3.) Parisian Flea Markets

Parisian Flea Markets are definitely some of the best places to shop in Paris. The warehouses and streets are full of vintage accessories, clothing and unique antiques. Saint Ouen, one of the most famous flea markets in the world, is a real city-within-the-city full of treasures and secrets. So we strongly advise you to join the Paris Flea Market Walking Tour with a local guide to discover the hidden secrets and make your tour a great shopping experience.

4.) Museum of Modern Art

The museum of Modern Art is right next to the Palais de Tokyo (a cultural center devoted to contemporary art), and not far from the Eiffel Tower. Modern art fans will love this place full of Picasso and Matisse paintings, but also works of art from famous international artists. Non-permanent exhibitions are also worth a visit.

5.) Notre Dame Tour

The area is full of mysteries and tales that take you back to the Middle Ages when Paris was nothing more than a village. The gothic cathedral hides secrets that you should not miss! I advise you to join a Free Walking Tour with a local guide that will tell you incredible stories about Notre Dame.

Sightseeing in Paris in September

Batignolles:
I cannot think of any other place anyone would want to visit in September, other than the Batignolles. The place is considered very fashionable to live in, almost won a bid to be the Olympic village for the Paris Olympic Games in 2012, and with attractions like the Batignolles Cemetery and the Square des Batignolles, will be a sure way for you to spend your time! Don’t also forget that this is the low tourist season as most have left/are leaving, and many Parisians are still lazing around from the summer vacations. The Batignolles district has also welcomed sustainable development, and every Saturday morning, one of three biological Markets takes place along the Boulevard des Batignolles!

By September, most summer tourists are gone and for the locals, it’s time to go back to normal after the summer holidays. There are so many things to do in Paris in September and this may be the ideal month to appreciate the city. The summer is still here and it’s a great time to discover the city. I like going to the Latin district, and especially having dinner with my friends on the Mouffetard Street! This is a really nice little street where you can have good and cheap food.”
