Growing up, there was nothing more fascinating than watching celebrity twins do their thing. If you think about it, they delivered double the acting, singing and entertainment, it was also pretty confusing at times but that is and will always be about identical twins like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the girls who made teenagehood bearable with their well-liked children’s television appearances and books. 

Most of the twins we know started their careers together but all of the most well-known identical twins are in the TV industry, some are sportsmen, politicians, singers and other industries. Let’s take a look at 40 Famous Twins From Around The World.

The sisters first made headlines as Michelle Tanner on Full House and went on to act in a number of teen movies, including Passport To Paris and It Takes Two, as well as their popular Nickelodeon series Two Of A Kind. With the creation of popular brands like The Row and Elizabeth and James, the sisters have dipped their toes into the fashion industry as adults. The CFDA recognised Olsens as Womenswear Designers of the Year in 2012 and 2015. The couple also received the CFDA Accessory Designers of the Year award in 2014 and 2018.

2. Mark and Scott Kelly

Former NASA astronauts Scott and Mark Kelly each have their own unique list of accomplishments. Between 1999 and 2015, Scott Kelly performed two extended space station deployments as well as two shorter missions. His most recent mission, which lasted an entire year, was also used to investigate how the human body adjusts to prolonged space travel. They helped create solutions for social isolation to deal with the coronavirus epidemic, Scott shared advice on coping with isolation in 2020 in a New York Times story.

Beyonce gave birth to twins Rumi and Sir Carter in 2017, and over the years, she hasn’t shared so many photos of her children but they did appear in Beyonce’s film Black Is King in cameo roles. Queen B has been open about her love for her children as she also honoured her son with a statement that appeared on screen and said:

“Dedicated to my son, Sir Carter, and to all our boys and daughters, the sun and the moon bend for you, you are the keys to our kingdom.” While wearing floral outfits by Zimmerman, Rumi had an appearance in the movie alongside her mother, grandmother, Blue Ivy, and older sister.

4. Marissa and Giovanni Ribisi

We mostly remember Giovanni Ribisi is known for his awkward role in friends and he’s also appeared in other comedy shows such as Saving Private Ryan and That Thing You Do. His twin sister Whitley Kros is well-known for her clothing brand and her unique fashion sense.

The twins briefly enjoyed fame for their roles in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, the two were adorable on screen and their clearly just as close as they used to be then. 

Cole joined Riverdale after receiving his degree from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. After breaking up with his girlfriend of three years Lili Reinhart, it is said that Cole is now dating Ari Fournier. In the meantime, Barbara Palvin, a model, is Dylan’s girlfriend as he continues to act.

Mo Farah and his brother Hassan Farah suffered from separation in war-torn Somalia, soon after Hassan was left behind and his brother Mo went on to become famous. Although the plan was to have the brothers together in the UK, the brothers were reunited 12 years later when Mo was a world-class athlete. Their story is a heartbreaking story of siblings who had to survive as children but fortunately made it out alive and are now united as siblings.

Les Twins, a pair of French twin dancers best renowned for their choreography, are also producers, models, designers, and creative directors of their company Eleven Paris. They first rose to fame as Beyoncé’s dancers, performing as her sole male dancers on The Mrs Carter Show World Tour. Since then, they have participated in runway shows for Versace, Gucci, and Prada and made an appearance in the musical film Cats, and reconnected with Bey for Beychella, her renowned Coachella performance.

The “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” on Disney is where Camilla and Rebecca Rosso, identical twins from London, are best known for portraying twins Janice and Jessica. During a live broadcast of the programme, the executive producers of the show randomly selected them for the positions.

9. James and Oliver Phelps

Any J.J. Rowling fan can relate to these twins who are memorable and appeared in each of the eight movies based on J.K. Rowling’s fantasy novels. The Phelps twins had never been in a movie before their appearance in the wildly popular ones.

10. Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett and Hunter lead different lives and don’t exactly look identical even though they are twins in reality. Although Hunter has appeared on our screens before, he is more interested in politics than acting. He worked as a community organiser in Manhattan and assisted former president Barack Obama during the 2008 campaign.

When you see these twins we’re pretty sure you remember Lynette Scavo from Desperate Housewives and you probably remember (Felicity Huffman). When The Batman premiered in March, they both posted a selfie of themselves smiling together. These twins demonstrate real love and support constantly, a good example would be when Max shared a video clip in support f his brother, who came out as gay in 2016.

These twins are well-known on their own, independent of their famous brother, musician Mark Ronson. Samantha works as a DJ and has dated Lindsay Lohan in the past, while Charlotte is a fashion designer.

These are probably one of the most famous twins who are still in the limelight many years later. The pair started off as child stars when they acted in “Sister, Sister,” which ran from 1994 to 1999, they gained experience as they acted as twins who were split at birth.

Besides that, they costarred as twins in the movies “Seventeen Again” from 2000 and “The Hot Chick” from 2002. They also made guest appearances as twins in their little brother’s sitcom “Smart Guy” and in the Disney Channel Original Movies “Twitches” and “Twitches Too” as long-lost twins, but this time with superpowers.

Then, from 2011 to 2013, they switched to reality television with “Tia & Tamera.” In addition, they coauthored the “Twintuition” series of books for pre-teens, which was released from 2016 to 2018.

15. May and Ruth Bell

The twins originally caught the attention of the fashion industry when they were discovered at the age of 16 by an Elite scout at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. Since then, they have become regulars on the red carpet.

For some reason, after Ruth shaved her hair their ratings went up. They have recently modelled for brands including Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent, The Kooples, Dior, Topshop, and Burberry, and they don’t seem to be slowing down.

While neither of them has given birth to twins, they did deliver two kids who were born one day apart. On July 31, 2020, Nikki and Artem Chigvintsev, her fiancé and former “Dancing with the Stars” partner, welcomed their first child, Matteo. The following day, Bella and her husband Daniel Bryan made an announcement about the birth of their second child, Buddy.

19. Jill and Jacqueline Hennessy

Jill Hennessy, a Canadian-born actress who has appeared in a number of American television shows, is perhaps best known for her role as the husky-voiced district attorney on the highly esteemed crime drama series “Law & Order.” She has also been on “City on a Hill,” “Homicide: Life on the Street,” and “Crossing Jordan” on television. With Benji playing lead guitar and Joel providing backup vocals, the Madden brothers formed Good Charlotte in 1996. With “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” which peaked at No. 20, they have had three albums in the Billboard 200’s top ten list and seven singles on the chart.

Following that, they launched The Madden Brothers in 2014 as a side project, which was successful in Australia. Since then, they have also launched additional businesses, including clothing lines, production firms, and other endeavours. With the release of their new album, “The Hidden Lives Of,” Jessica and Lisa Origliasso appeared in the music world. Although that record was well-received in Australia, the sisters didn’t reach the top of the U.S. charts until the song “Untouched” from their 2007 album “Hook Me Up” was made available.

The song reached its highest position on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009 at No. 17. The Veronicas: Blood is for Life, a six-episode Australian reality television series about the identical twins’ personal and professional life, broadcasted on MTV.

22. Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush

Around the time of their grandfather’s inaugural in 1989, Barbara and Jenna, fraternal twins, were eight years old. Following their father’s election in 2000, they returned to the White House as 19-year-olds. In the same year that they graduated from high school, Jenna enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin and Barbara attended Yale. The Bush twins each pursued a different job after graduating, but they teamed up in 2017 to create “Sisters First: Tales from Our Crazy and Wonderful Life,” a joint biography, and a children’s picture book with the same name.

After playing college football for the University of Virginia, Tiki and Ronde, both 47, were selected in the Draft pick in 1997. Tiki was selected by the New York Giants in the second round, while Ronde was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round. Both were incredibly successful in their football careers, and Ronde even won the Super Bowl in 2003. Ronde continued to play through 2013, while Tiki retired in 2007. Eight children’s books were written by the twins together, the most recent being “End Zone” (2012).

24. Malika and Khadijah Haqq

Malika and Khadijah first gained attention from viewers when they played the self-duplicating Penny character in the 2005 movie “Sky High.” Nevertheless, three years later, Khloe’s close friends Malika (and eventually Khadijah) started to make appearances on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

The sisters played the lead roles in “Dash Dolls,” a spin-off that focused on their lives at the Kardashian-owned store Dash. The two continued to appear on “KUWTK” until the very end of its one-season run, and now they can be seen on “The Kardashians” on Hulu.

25. Marcus and Lucas Dobre

The Dobre twins had about 2 million followers on Vine until it was discontinued, and since 2015, they have accumulated over 5 billion views on YouTube collectively. Prior to leaving in June 2017, they were among the initial founding members of Team 10, Jake Paul’s social media collective. To expand, the 23-year-olds even joined CAA. They continue to publish three times per week on YouTube, and their primary channel currently has 26.9 million subscribers. 

26. Aaron and Shawn Ashmore

Throughout four seasons of “Smallville,” Aaron portrayed Jimmy Olsen, Clark Kent’s closest friend. He has also had appearances in “Fringe,” “Killjoys,” and most recently, the Netflix series “Locke & Key,” which is based on the same-named comic.

Shawn, his twin, has even more credibility in comic books. In addition to appearing as Lamplighter in the second season of “The Boys,” he played Iceman in four “X-Men” films. Like his twin, he has also had appearances in “Smallville” and “Fringe” and is the star of “The Rookie” right now.

27. The Lucas Brothers

Kenny and Keith both  got their start in comedy by co-starring in “Arrested Development” and the animated sitcom “Lucas Bros. Moving Co.” They also played minor roles in “22 Jump Street.” They have continued to collaborate, making appearances in “The Grinder,” “Crashing,” and “The Supreme Court with Doug Benson.”

They received a narrative credit and co-produced “Judas and the Black Messiah,” which was nominated for numerous Oscars in 2021, including best film and best original screenplay. For his performance, Daniel Kaluuya was awarded, best-supporting actor.

Nick Carter is Aaron’s and Angela’s elder brother. The twins have been in the entertainment industry while they were young; Aaron had his own career in music with famous songs like “Aaron’s Party” and Angel was a model. The two were always closer when Aaron walked his sister down the aisle but unfortunately, they fell out and Angel filed a restraining order against their brother.

The twins born to Brad Pitt and Angelina in July 2008 sparked a lot of excitement. When their parents sold the first photograph of the twins to Hello and People for a combined $26 million, Forbes reports that they ended up earning the most money ever from a celebrity snap.

The twins turned a year older in July 2022, Angelina has worked hard to expose them as they’ve already collaborated with their mother on a project, with Vivienne appearing in “Maleficent” and Knox lending his voice to “Kung Fu Panda 3.”

Though the twins are still small their fathers Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin were quite excited to share about their first children. The babies were birthed by a surrogate and they are absolutely adorable and a carbon copy of each other.

If you’ve watched Orange is the New Black then you could not have missed Sophia who is a character played by Laverne Cox as a transgender woman. When the show made the decision to explore Sophia’s background with flashbacks to a time when the character was still coming out as trans, they cast M. Lamar, Cox’s identical twin brother, as Marcus. In spite of competition from other males, Lamar was chosen for the part after casting discovered that Cox had a twin.

Joy Green, A French actress wears many hats and works in Italy as a horse breeder and a businesswoman. Eva followed her mother’s footsteps and got into acting while her sister took a different path altogether. Joy Green’s sister Eva was born two minutes earlier. She works with a number of fashion brands and modelling agencies. She appears in a number of well-known films as well.

Although both Bündchen twins had dreamed of being models, Gisele Bündchen achieved greater success in the industry. Both sisters didn’t make it to the modelling industry but that didn’t stop them from becoming closer, the sisters work together and Patricia Bündchen is now her sister’s manager and spokesperson.

As a result, Jeremy received the part after trying out for it.

The identical twins’ Rami and Sami, who were born only a few minutes apart, are brothers. Rami was born four minutes before Sami, so he’s technically older.  Just three years before they were born, in 1978, their parents, Said and Nelly, moved to the United States. They grew up speaking in Arabic at home and even after becoming famous they still keep in close contact with their cousins and other family friends who live in Egypt.
