1. Hell Or High Water (2016)
Hell or High Water is the story of Toby and Tanner Howard, siblings who rob two banks in Texas. Their robbery plan was successful and the two proceed to enjoy a wealthy life with the stolen cash.
After knowing of a heavy family debt, Toby and Tanner resort to more bank heists to cater to their ranch mortgage. The two criminals avoid getting caught by perfecting their robbing and money laundering skills.
However, Texas Rangers Alberto Parker and Marcus Hamilton, are determined to bring the burglars down after learning of their identity.

2. Out of Sight (1998)
Out of Sight is an award-winning film featuring Hollywood Stars George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. The comedy/crime movie was adapted from an Elmore Leonard 1996 novel.
In the film, bank robber Jack Foley is caught by the authorities after robbing a bank in Miami. Shortly after, he escapes from Glades Correctional Institution. Jack and his friends team up to execute a heist at a former inmate’s home in Detroit.
U.S Marshall Karen Sisco heads out to Detroit in pursuit of Jack. After a bloody encounter, her mission is successful and Jack is transported back to prison.
After its release in June, the film didn’t do as well as anticipated. It, however, gained recognition years later and became a cult classic.

3. The Old Man & The Gun (2018)
After escaping San Quentin, Forrest Tucker decides to engage in a series of heists robbing banks in Dallas, Texas. John Hunt, a Detective from Texas Police, goes on a manhunt hoping to capture the 70-year-old criminal.
The fugitive remained on the authority’s most wanted list for two years. Caught in a police shootout, Forrest escapes to his lover’s farm where he is cornered by policemen. He surrenders and is taken to jail.
The film’s storyline was partly inspired by one of David Grann’s write ups. The New York article was based on the true story of Forrest Tucker.

4. The Town (2010)
The Town is a 2-hour film based on crime, romance, and drama. It was released on September 17th,2010, and features famous actors Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner.
In the movie, Doug, played by Affleck, is the leader of a criminal gang in Boston, Massachusetts. In one of their bank heists, the manager, Claire Keesey, is taken hostage but is released after the robbery.
Doug stalks Clare after the incident to ensure she doesn’t rat out his gang. The two begin a romance that Claire ends upon learning of Doug’s involvement in the heist.

5. Inside Man (2006)
The Netflix film is based on a bank robbery on Wall Street. The robbers dressed in disguises take over the Manhattan Bank holding its employees hostage.
When the police arrive at the crime scene, they begin negotiations. Determined to catch the burglars, they find a way of tapping into the conversations going on inside the bank. A staged hostage shooting prompts the authorities into action.
The film gets enthralling after the authorities discovered they too had been bugged by the bank robbers. Its unexpected plot twist is worth a watch.

6. The Bank Job (2008)
The Bank Job is a crime/thriller film based on a 1971 street robbery in London. The film contains factual and fictional scenes from the heist. The actual robbery was inspired by an 1891 short story by Arthur Conan.
The film was the first attempt at revealing details of the Llyod Banks robbery. The valuables stolen incriminated powerful and influential Brits including Princess Margaret and Lew Vogel.

7. Point Break (1991)
This action/crime film is an adaptation of the novel Point Break. It is based on the story of FBI Agent, Johnny Utah, and a group of bank robbers. The Agent is sent on an undercover mission to obtain the identities of the criminal gang.
The gang, which goes around Ohio State robbing banks, soon becomes wanted by the authorities. The FBI is convinced the burglars are a group of surfers and Johnny proceeds to investigate this hunch.
Point Break was a hit. It gained a massive following and a remake of the successful film was released in 2015.

8. Bandits (2001)
Bandits is a drama, crime, and comedy film shot in Oregon State. The film captures the story of two bank robbers, Joe (played by Bruce Willis) and Terry (played by Billy Thornton), who go on a bank robbing sphere after escaping from prison.
Consequently, the two notorious criminals are listed as the top ten most wanted by the FBI. A rift is formed between the men after they both fall in love with a hostage Kate (played by Cate Blanchett).

9. The Hurricane Heist (2018)
The Hurricane Heist is a crime film centered on a treasury robbery in Alabama. With the aid of rogue agents at the treasury, a gang of robbers loots New Hope’s local treasury.
The burglars seize the opportunity of an approaching hurricane to cover their tracks. Unluckily, one of the trucks carrying part of the stolen money gets whisked away by the hurricane. Three of the gang robbers safely escape the raging storm and get away with USD 200 million.
The film partially adapts its concept from the 2012 occurrence of similar nature. Despite its low rating, this out-of-ordinary film is worth a watch!

10. Den Of Thieves (2018)
In the film Den Of Thieves, a criminal gang from Los Angeles plans to rob the Federal Reserve Bank. The ex-Marine officers anticipate stealing USD 30 million of old untraceable bank bills before their scheduled shredding.
After finding out about a possible police informant, the crew still proceeds with their plan. They distract the police by detonating explosives before escaping through the sewers. A shootout ensues.
In 2018, the production crew announced a sequel of the film. It is, however, yet to be released.
