Spring has just arrived, the sunny days too and it doesn’t stay long before summer comes! So, to refresh yourself, you have to go swimming! In this article, you will discover all the small places in which you can swim in Paris and its surroundings.

In Paris…

The most famous place is Paris Plage

Every summer, from July to September, the Bassin de la Villette transforms itself into the beach of Parisians!

Swimming is completely free of charge. You have three pools of different depths, from the paddling pool to the large 2-metre deep pool. Cabins, showers, toilets and deckchairs are installed on site, and water quality is monitored 2 to 4 times a day. You can swim, have a drink on the terrace or simply sunbathe on a deckchair. Moreover, lots of water games are organised for the children, so everyone has fun!

Swimming in Bassin de la Villette. From July to September. Every day from 11am to 9pm. Free admission.

LaPlage de Glazart

From June to September, at Porte de la Villette, you will also have a beach atmosphere with deckchairs, fine sand and many concerts. Unfortunately, no swimming but real summer and festive evenings!

The surroundings of Paris are composed of different landscapes and as there are several forests, there are also several leisure parks! To locate them more quickly, I will present them to you according to their departments:

In Seine-et-Marne (77)

Meaux Plage

Meaux Plage is generally accessible from July to August for the great pleasure of young and old. On the programme: free swimming in the Marne and entertainment for all (fitness, karate, relaxation,…) And as the beach and swimming are free, you should not miss this !

Leisure Island of Bois-le-Roi

50 km south of Paris, the Ile de Loisirs de Bois-le-Roi welcomes you for free all year round. Located on the banks of the Seine, with direct access to the Fontainebleau forest, this leisure park and its 73 hectares await you for moments of relaxation, sport and family leisure. And when you know that the entrance to the base, parking and swimming are free, you go for it!

Leisure Island of Bois-le-Roi. Rue de Tournezy, 77590 Bois-le-Roi. Monday to Sunday, 9am to 9pm.

Vaires-Torcy Leisure Island

If you want to take a getaway along the banks of the Marne, just 30 kilometres from Paris, you will find one of the most beautiful leisure parks in Ile de France where families and sports enthusiasts can meet. Torcy Island has 10,000 m2 of grass and 7,000 m2 of beach. You will also find large golf and tennis courts, a riding school for pony riding and even a fitness area.

In the Hauts de Seine (92)

Clamart Beach

The city of Clamart transforms its Hunebelle Stadium into a Clamart Beach, from July to August, with a 450 m² and 90 cm high water pool, in which you can swim, aquagym and even kayak! On the stadium lawn, you also have a relaxation area with deckchairs and parasols.

Clichy Beach

Clichy Plage is from July to August, with lots of entertainment, water games and swimming!

In Seine-Saint-Denis (93)

Bajo Beach

La Bajo Plage is a seaside facility in the town of Bagnolet at the Parc des Sports de la Briquerie during the month of July. Several spaces are available so that everyone can have a good time and the activities are free!

In the Val de Marne (94)

Champigny Beach

Champigny Plage also takes place during the month of July! Every year, nearly 55,000 people come to enjoy themselves on the banks of the Marne in July, thanks to the activities specially designed for the summer… Initiations to canoeing, paddle, dance, zumba and many other activities await you.

Champigny Plage. Nautical base, Quai Gallieni. Monday to Friday, from 1:30 pm to 9 pm. Free admission.

Boissy Plage

From July to August, discover Boissy Plage in Boissy-Saint-Léger. The lawn of the Marcel Laveau Stadium hosts many activities, sports and leisure activities, outdoors, for the whole family in a beach setting with palm trees, bathing cabins and shade sails.

Boissy Plage. From July to August. Stade Marcel Laveau – rue de Charenton. Tuesday to Sunday, 2:30 pm to 7 pm. Free admission.

In the Val d’Oise (95)

Leisure Island of Cergy-Pontoise

Located 30 km from Paris, in the heart of the Cergy-Pontoise urban area, the Cergy-Pontoise leisure park is a veritable green setting, open all year round. Under the watchful eye of lifeguards, enjoy swimming, the giant 150m slide, the paddling pool for the little ones and the water games. But also the many activities on offer on site: surfing waves, rafting, kayaking, tennis, sailing, mini-golf, pony, walks and other barbecues. Holidays without leaving the Ile de France!

Most of these places are free of charge. Otherwise, the entrance is cheap. Now, you now all the places to swim around Paris, or just relax in the sun. Enjoy the beautiful summer days that come very quickly!
