15 Exquisite Pizza Restaurants in Virginia Beach
Pizza is the ultimate happy meal, as humans, we are drawn to foods that are fatty, sweet, rich and complex. Pizza has all of these components; fatty cheese, meaty toppings and sweet sauce. A bite and your sadness melts away. Our mood has a direct response to the consumption of fatty acids. Fatty acids, like fats and oils, are common attributes of comfort foods, like pizza. Pizza toppings are also packed with a compound called glutamate, which can be found in tomatoes, cheese, pepperoni and sausage. Along with the glutamate, during the pizza cooking process, the Maillard reaction brings forward the compounds that give pizza its distinct flavour. When it comes to foods that most people love around the world, you will find pizza right at the very top of the pile. People from all walks of life love eating pizza and can’t get enough of it. Thus pizza holds a special place in the heart and stomachs of many individuals. In Virginia Beach pizza comes in so many varieties, flavours and even shapes and sizes i.e. deep dish, pan, New York style, thin crust, stuffed crust, etc. No matter how varied the choices, is a favourite for Virginia Beach locals and visitors who just grab a slice and take it to the beach! Here are 15 Exquisite Pizza Restaurants in Virginia Beach that will serve you slices of ‘gooey niceness’.

Pizza Chapel
Best pizza in VB hands down, you cannot go wrong with Pizza Chapel! Pizza Chapel is an awesome local spot to grab a beer and a pie to go after a long week of work or play. No pizza chapel order is complete without the chapel wings, they are a must-have! The pizzas are great – not too heavy and just the right amount of sauce. The dough is great and always cooked perfectly. The highlights are the flavours: the ingredients are good and fresh and don’t have that gross or abundant plain cheese thing going on. The sauce has a good tangy and zesty flavour and is overall simple and satisfying. They also offer an impressive list of speciality pies, try a BBQ chicken one in the past but I recommend just keeping it simple with pep and cheese. The quality of the pizza is best tasted through the classics. They are a brewery as well so they have an extended beer selection as well as a wine menu.

9. MOD Pizza
Piping hot pizzas are cooked in just three minutes using an 800° oven and if the customer doesn’t like their first creation, they get a do-over free. MOD Pizza (MOD is short for Made On Demand), is the brainchild of Scott and Ally Svenson who were trying to figure out an economical way to feed their four hungry boys. Unlike an Italian restaurant, MOD Pizza allows you to make your own pizza. Whether you want meat, vegetables, extra cheese, or different sauces, MOD has them all. Despite the many toppings, it doesn’t take long for them to be ready either. After all the cheeses, toppings, etc. are completed, it is set for cooking. You go over and pay at the register and wait for your name to be called. We recommend mozzarella, red sauce, tomatoes, and garlic, topped with pesto drizzle.
