American artistic gymnast Shayla Worley is from Orlando. She competed for the United States on the team that won the gold medal at the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. At Orlando Metro Gymnastics, where she trained for most of her athletic career, she was coached by Jeff Wood and Christi Barineau. She competed at the University of Georgia, the 10-time NCAA champion in gymnastics, from 2009 to 2013.
