The Liberty Bell is a united States of America symbol of Freedom. This was declared a symbol of Freedom after the America was liberated from the British rule.

The Liberty Bell has others names. It was referred to as the large bill or a traditional symbol of US freedom.

In 1751, the Liberty Bell was commissioned by the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly. The Liberty Bell was to hang in the new State House which was renamed as the Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Of importance to note is that the Liberty Bell was cast in London by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. It was purchased for about £100.

When the Liberty Bell was installed, it cracked on the first testing ring. This prompted the Pennsylvania Assembly source for people to repair it locally.

Two metal makers, John Pass and John Stow were able to repair the bell. Hence, there surnames Pass and Stow appeared on the bell in their honor

The existence of the Liberty Bell was after the colonial rule of British on the United States. The Bell was purchased to be a symbol of Freedom. It rang on the day America celebrated their independence from Great Britain.

Isaac Norris who was the Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly in 1751 ordered for the bell from London, the Whitechapel Foundry.

In 1777, the Bell was removed from Philadelphia under armed guard and taken to Allentown. This is where it was hidden in a church.

The fact that it was feared that the British would melt the Bell and use it to make cannons. It came back to Philadelphia the following year.

The bell was moved during the World War I but is now settled at the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia.
