Instead, Reynolds and his friends had played an April Fool’s prank on a teacher they disliked by picking up and carrying his small Volkswagen down the block. However, they later discovered that moving someone else’s car more than 10 feet is considered a felony in Canada.

Reynolds was expelled from high school for stealing a teacher’s vehicle. In a BBC interview, he stated that he was the victim of a practical joke. He only wanted to perform a small trick on the teacher with his friends for some lighthearted fun. Around the block, they went in the teacher’s car. Even if the car didn’t go so far, it was still classified as theft which was obviously an unlawful act.
