Jaimie Lauren Alexander is an American actress who was born Jaimie Lauren Tarbush. Jaimie is renowned for portraying Jessi on the television series Kyle XY and Lady Sif in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Thor. She also starred in the NBC series Blindspot from 2015 until 2020.

Jaimie was born on 12th March 1984 in Greenville, South Carolina but later moved to Grapevine, Texas at the age of four. She is the only girl in the family of five children. Her father was known as David Curtis Tarbush and her mother Nita Carol Tarbush.

Jaimie Lauren Alexander got into acting in grade school where she took theatre for fun, but she was kicked out when in high school because she could not sing. After being chased away from the theatre in high school, Jaimie Lauren Alexander instead went into sports which she enjoyed.

However, at the age of 17, she substituted a friend at a meeting with a scouting agency which got her to meet Randy James, a manager who she sent some scripts. After graduating from Colleyville Heritage High School, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.

1. Jaimie was Kicked Out of Theatre in High School

Jaimie Lauren Alexander was born in Greenville, South Carolina and relocated to Grapevine, Texas at the age of four. At grade school, Jaimie Lauren expressed her interest in acting and always took theatre for fun.

However, her love for theatre was not upheld for long after moving from grade school to high school. While in high school, Jaimie Lauren Alexander revealed that she was kicked out of the theatre because she was unable to sing. This made her get involved in sports which she thrived in.

2. She Pursued an Acting Career after High School Graduation

After being rejected for theatre in high school, Jaimie never gave up on her acting career. At the age of 17, she was able to get a substitute with a friend and met a scouting agency.

Jaimie met with her friend’s manager, Randy James who she sent her some scripts. Later on, Jaimie Lauren graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School. A year and a half later, Jaimie decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.

3. Jaimie Earned Her First Acting Role after an Audition

In 2003, Jaimie officially launched her acting career after getting the leading role of Hanna Thompson. This role was in a low-budget award-winning film, The Other Side.

Before getting her role, Jaimie was originally at the audition to help out by reading against the male actors. However, the director known as Gregg Bishop decided to cast her in the leading role. This was after hearing her perform the lines she was given during the audition.

After officially debuting her acting career in 2003, Jaimie went ahead and featured in several other films and movies. However, the movies she played in never made her get that much attention in the limelight till later.

2007 was her breakthrough year as she began starring in the ABC Family television show Kyle XY as Jessi. Her role as Jessi depicted a troubled show-off with superhuman powers trying to find a way in the world.

This role generated a large fan base for Jaimie Lauren Alexander as they were hoping to see a spin-off show for her character. Later on, she made guest roles on the shows CSI Miami and Bones.

5. Jaimie Alexander Appeared in the Live-Action Superhero Film Thor

After the breakthrough role in Kyle XY, Jaimie Lauren Alexander got exposed more and gained more interest from several movie directors. In September 2009, she played cast as Lady Sif in the live-action superhero film Thor which was directed by Kenneth Branagh and got released in May 2011.

Jaimie reprised the same role in the sequel Thor: The Dark World which was released in November 2013. Later on, she reprised the role twice in special crossover guest appearances in the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on 11th March 2014 and 10th March 2015.

Jaimie Lauren Alexander has featured in several projects over the years in her successful acting career. In 2011, Jaimie reunited again with writer/director Gregg Bishop for the film, The Birds of Anger for NBC Universal G4 Films.

This film, The Birds of Anger was based on the mobile game, Rovio’s Angry Birds which is told in the style of the 1964 film, The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock. This film cast by Jaimie was selected by Robert Rodriguez to be featured on his El Rey Network in 2019.

7. Jaimie Suffered Severe Injuries During Thor Set

Acting usually cokes with some scenes that are very risky and pose some danger to the actors and their crew. Jaimie once suffered severe injuries during a set of one of the movies she featured in.

In 2012, she slipped off a metal staircase during the set of Thor: The Dark World on a rainy morning. This fall was bad in that it caused her to slip a disc in her thoracic spine, chip 11 of her vertebrae and also had a dislocated left shoulder and tore a rhomboid on her right side. The injuries Jaimie sustained took her out of filming for a whole month.

8. She also Suffered Multiple Injuries During the Filming of Blindspot

The fall she sustained during the Thor set that got her injuries is not the only one that she has suffered during filming. During the filming of Blindspot, Jaimie sustained several injuries.

These injuries include a ruptured C6 and C7 discs from being waterboarded; herniated T3, T4, T8 and T9 discs and a broken nose. She also suffered a dislocated right shoulder, broken right index finger, broken left foot, broken left two toes thrice, broken right foot, dislocated jaw and other injuries she never disclosed.

9. Jaimie Dated Actor Peter Facinelli, Got Engaged and Broke Up

Jaimie Lauren Alexander has never hidden her personal life from the public. In 2012, she began dating actor Peter Facinelli after meeting up on the set of Loosies.

The two got engaged in March 2015. However, in February 2016, Jaimie Lauren Alexander and Facinelli announced they had parted ways and ended their engagement.

10. Jaimie Underwent Surgery and Recovered from a Ruptured Appendix
