Hip Hop has come a long way in the last few years. Hip-hop has produced some of the greatest MCs through hard work and dedication.  They’ve demonstrated their ability to move crowds, deliver flows, and deliver lyrics with cultural significance. Their command of the microphone has enabled them to produce a body of work that is both creative and unique. Some are well-known for their combat abilities, while others are well-known for their poetic substance, and still, others are well-known for their influence through captivating and flavorful lyrics.

However, in this article, we discuss some of the 15 best US rappers of all time. They include the following;

1. Tupac

Tupac Amaru Shakur, better known as 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper. Many consider him to be one of the best rappers of all time. Pac was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas after attending the Bruce Seldon vs. Mike Tyson WBA Heavyweight Championship title fight at the MGM Grand; he died six days later, and the gunman was never apprehended. The majority of Tupac’s songs deal with inner-city violence and hardship, racism, and conflicts with other rappers during the East Coast-West Coast hip-hop rivalry.

Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972, is one of the most successful musical artists of his generation. He began his career as an underground battle rapper in Detroit. His big break came in 1997 when we went to Los Angeles to compete in the Rap Olympics. Despite finishing second, his performance impressed Interscope Records executives, who forwarded his name to Dr. Dre. He would go on to sell millions of records a year later.

3. Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is a rapper, songwriter, and record producer from the United States. He is without a doubt the most acclaimed rap artist of his generation, as well as one of the most skilled and successful hip-hop artists of his generation.

Lamar has thirteen Grammy Awards to his name. MTV named him the “Hottest MC in the Game” on their annual list in early 2013. In 2016, Time named him one of the world’s 100 most influential people.

Lil Wayne started as a near-unknown, a preteen delivering hardcore Southern hip-hop. He is well-known for his ability to deliver slow, witty lines and metaphorical jokes. 5.50 Cent

50 Cent began pursuing a musical career, and in 2000 he produced Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records; however, he was shot days before the album’s scheduled release, and the album was never released.  The album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which sold 872,000 copies in four days and was certified 8x platinum by the RIAA, was 50’s pinnacle success in 2003.

50 Cent has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and received a Grammy Award, thirteen Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and four BET Awards.

Nas is the son of jazz musician Olu Dara and an American rapper and songwriter. He is one of hip-most hop’s most well-known, enigmatic, and lyrically blessed figures to ever take the stage. He has, however, released eight consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums and sold over 30 million records worldwide since his heart-stopping debut turn on Main Source’s “Live at the Barbeque.”

7. Rakim

Rakim is a rapper from the United States and one-half of the golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim.  Eric B. and Rakim first met in 1985 and went on to release four studio albums before splitting up in 1992. NPR journalist Tom Terrell described the duo as “the most influential DJ/MC combo in contemporary pop music period.” He set a new standard for the MC technique, helping to pioneer the use of internal rhymes — rhymes that occurred in the middle of lines rather than just at the end.

André 3000 is commonly acknowledged to be one of the greatest rappers of all time. He is a rapper, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. He is best known as half of the hip-hop duo OutKast with his rhyme partner, Big Boi. The duo has released some of the most critically acclaimed albums in hip-hop history, culminating in their 2003 double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

9. Notorious B.I.G.

The Notorious B.I.G.  is known as Christopher George Latore Wallace. During his career, he was also known as Biggie Smalls or simply Biggie. He began in gangsta rap and East Coast hip-hop. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. He was known for his laid-back delivery of lyrics with sometimes dark content, as his music was semi-autobiographical, telling about his life dealing with criminality and hardship, but also triumphs.

10.Lauryn Hill

She is credited with breaking down barriers for female rappers worldwide. Her solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, was a best-selling album when it was released in 1998. Lana Michele Moorer, also known as MC Lyte among female rappers. She was born on October 11, 1970, and has worked as a DJ, actress, and entrepreneur. Ice Cube is a Gangster Rap pioneer. He rose to prominence as the primary songwriter and member of the legendary hip-hop group N.W.A. Easy-E, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, and DJ Yella were also members of the group, which was known for pushing the boundaries of lyrical content in mainstream popular music. Straight Outta Compton, the group’s first album, is considered one of the most important releases in rap history, and Ice Cube was responsible for a large portion of the lyrics, including the majority of Easy-verses. Kanye West is a rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, and fashion designer from the United States. He is widely regarded, however, as one of the greatest and most influential hip-hop musicians of all time. In addition to being one of the greatest musicians of his generation. Furthermore, to pursue a solo career as a rapper, he released his debut studio album, The College Dropout (2004), to critical and commercial success, and later founded the record label GOOD Music.

She began her music career in the early-mid 1990s with the R&B girl group Sista and later joined the Swing Mob collective with childhood friend and longtime collaborator Timbaland, with whom she worked on projects for American R&B acts Aaliyah, 702, Total, and SWV.

She has been dubbed the “Queen of Rap” by the media. In the United States, she has sold over 30 million records. She has received four Grammy Awards.  According to Billboard, she is the best-selling female rapper in Nielsen Music history.  She was the first female rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and she received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs for her contribution to the music video landscape.  Billboard ranked her fifth among the 100 Greatest Music Video Artists of All Time in 2020. She was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2021.
