Coffee MCO was established in 2019 by Joseph Shin and Jed Mitra adjacent to a thriving tour bus station. They called their two-story coffee shop after Shin’s two dogs, Mason and Cohen, who each got their own trademark beverages. Cohen the Weimaraner influenced an “advanced with a distinctive note of sweetness” iced latte crafted with homemade Earl Grey tea syrup and oat milk. Mason the German Shepherd inspired a “quirky & sweet with a recognizable taste” whole milk latte with homemade brown butter caramel and smoked sea salt. The multi-roaster cafe features Little Wolf beans as well as coffee from Saint Frank, Sey, Market Lane, and Luminous. Coffee MCO serves regular brunch, which includes a Korean-style slow cooked brisket breakfast burrito with spicy homemade salsa.
