10 Very Unusual Bars in New York
Paris is a fantastic European city in which to hunt down your favorite DJs, especially in the summer season when they tour the biggest cities and play at the most renowned venues.
Here is where you should go to find the best lineups and top DJs sets while in Paris.
1. Oscar Wilde in New York
Designed to be a replica of the 19th century aristocrat’s home, this bar/restaurant space is Oscar through and through! Think chandeliers, fire places, murals and multiple clocks that are all set to the exact time of Oscar’s death back in 1900.

2. Beauty Bar in New York
At this swanky hideaway you’ll get a martini and a manicure at the very reasonable price of just $10. The retro-salon setting draws quite the crowd most nights of the week, and is hands down my personal favorite bar in the city. Get here early!

3. The Cauldron NYC Magical Pub in New York
Witches and wizards come together at this fantasy-themed bar in the far south of the city. Situated inside of the Bavaria Bierhaus, this has got to be one of the most unique watering holes in all of the Big Apple.
There is a potion making class that starts at $45 per person — I’ve never done it, but I’ve heard grueling things…

4. Beetle House in New York
If Halloween and Beetlejuice get your engines revving, then Beetle House is going to make you very, very happy. This is a bar and restaurants in the East Village, and it’s kind of perfect if you’re into anything Tim Burton.
While I wouldn’t recommend eating here, coming for a drink it always a good idea while on a night out.

ADDRESS: 308 E 6th St, New York, NY 10003, United States

5. Burp Castle in New York
Unusual takes on a whole new meaning at this Belgian beer house in Noho. It’s a monastery themed bar where the thing of worship is… the beer.
The bartender at Burp Castle is the ringleader, and he ensures that everyone adheres to his desired level of beer worship as the night unfolds. If you’re not in the mood for some rife theme-play, consider drinking elsewhere…

6. Vynl in New York
Vynl is a wonderful place in Midtown West. It’s tectonically an Asian fusion restaurant, but it’s one of the better spots for drinking in this part of town, too. Think vintage records and disco balls galore, and restrooms named after the likes of Beyonce and Elvis.

Karaoke starts at 9pm sharp!

8. Please Don’t Tell in New York
I’d be remiss to leave the unusual hangout off of the list. PDT is one of the better known speakeasies in NYC, and one needs a very specific password in order to get inside. You access the bar by dialing the password code into an old pay phone — get it wrong and you’ll be left on the pavement.
It goes without saying that one needs a reservation in order to come here — but you can only book day of! Their operator opens from 3pm onward… get in line!

9. Jupiter Disco in New York
Technically a club, this has got to qualify as one of the more interesting places to drink in NYC. This is considered the top themed bar in NYC, and inside you’ll find a dystopian sci-fi heaven in a retro shade of cool.
Happy hour is between 6 to 8pm daily, and this is when the spot feels more like a bar than a club — would recommend!

10. Boobie Trap in New York
For fantastic (and reasonably priced) food and cocktails, Boobie Trap is the Bushwick local. The decor is pinup girl delight, and the staff are simply wonderful to be in the presence of (or at least I think so).
