The Nevada native band broke into the limelight on the release of their 2012 debut single Its Time. Since then, the band of four has received over 150 nominations winning nearly 50 awards.

The group has a large fan base, selling out arena concerts worldwide. They are one of five artists to achieve three ten-time certified platinum songs in Australia. The group has a broad discography with 6 studio albums, 10 Eps, and 4 live albums selling over 75 million records worldwide.

1. Radioactive

Radioactive, released in October 2012, was the band’s first single to top the US Billboard Hot 100. It is the opening track for Imagine Dragons’ 2013 album, Night Vision.

Radioactive is the group’s most successful song to date. It became a hit after commercials and trailers used it for marketing. The song was written by the band members and its producer Alex da kid.

Since its release, numerous covers and parodies of the song have been done by artists such as Lady Antebellum, Jason Derulo, and Daughtry. The Pentatonix and Lindsey Stirling version has gathered over 190 million views on YouTube.

The track was top three in America’s 2013 list of best-selling songs. It holds a seven-year record for the most weeks (87) spent on Billboard Hot 100. In 2014, it won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance and the Billboard Music Award for Top Streaming Song.

In the U.S., Radioactive has over 14 million certified sales and streaming units. Luminate Data, a music sales tracking site, named it the Most Download Song in Rock History.

2. Demons

Demons was the fourth song of the group’s first studio album, Night Vision. The pop-rock song was released in January 2013 and since then has been certified Diamond in the U.S. and eight-time platinum in Canada.

The song, based on the story of a partner warning his significant other of his flaws, was an instant hit. It was among the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 consecutive weeks after its release. It remained among the Hot 100 tracks for over a year making it the group’s second song to do so.

In 2014, Demons won Alternative Rock Song of the Year during the iHeartRadio Music Award. It also took home the International Video of the Year during the 2014 Much Music Video Awards. In a 2015 publication, it was ranked position eight on the Most Downloaded Songs in Rock History.

3. Believer

With over 2.3 billion Spotify streams, Believer is the group’s third most successful single of their musical career. After its release in 2017, it ranked top 10 in America, Canada, and other European countries’ music chats.

The song was featured as part of the track list of the movie Murder on the Orient Express (2017), and the series Inhumans and Riverdale. It is listed among the best-selling digital singles of all time alongside Adele’s Someone Like You and Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You.

In 2019, a collab of the song featuring the Hip-hop Rapper Lil Wayne was released and currently has 4.4 million views on YouTube.

4. Thunder

Thunder is the rock band’s second-most-streamed song on Spotify with a total of 1.8 billion plays. It was a top-ten track in U.S, Australia, Canada, and other European countries.

The song topped the Billboard Hot Rock Songs for over 5 months. In 2017, Thunder was the ninth best-selling song in America. It is certified Diamond in the United States and has 40 million streams in Sweden.

5. Whatever It Takes

Whatever it takes is part of the eleven tracks on the Evolve album. This third studio album peaked in second on the American Billboard 200.

Whatever it takes was received fairly well after its release in May 2017. It was number one on the U.S. Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Billboard Rock Airplay. A year later, it ranked at position 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song was used as the theme song for the private telecast of WWE Battleground event.

6. Warriors

Warriors was released in September 2014 as part of the track list of the album Smoke + Mirrors. It was featured as the official theme song for a 2015 wrestling series and the Canadian FIFA Women’s World Cup. It was also part of the soundtrack in multiple series and television shows.

Until 2019, the song’s video had the most views on the online multiplayer video arena, League of the Legends.

7. Bleeding Out

Bleeding Out is an alternative and electronic rock song on the 2012 album Night Visions. The song’s lyrics and jagged edge effect made it one of the dark songs from the group. It was part of the performed songs during the band’s 2015 Smoke + Mirror Tour.

In 2013, the track was ranked 58 on the US Billboard Hot Rock Songs. Bleeding Out is certified platinum in the U.S. with over a million sales and streams. Artists such as Svrcina covered of the song in 2014 gathering over two million views on YouTube.  

8. Bad Liar

Bad Liar is an electropop soft rock jam that was released in November of 2018. It was part of the five singles from the album Origins which peaked at number one on the Canadian Album Billboards.

Bad Liar was top 10 in Czetch Republic (first place), Slovakia (second place), Switzerland (fourth place), Belgium (tenth place), and Finland (tenth place). The song has over a million streams and sales in the U.S.

9. It’s Time

Its Time was Imagine Dragons’ first single and part of their 2011 EP under the same title. It was initially released on YouTube in December 2010 but was released officially two years later in February.

The song was a sleeper hit after multiple uses in popular shows such as Glee, Gossip Girl, and Googlebox. It was also used in commercials by Chile’s largest provider of subscription television, VTR.

In an interview with Dan Reynolds, a group member and the song’s writer told the American News Website that the song had taken a year and a half to complete. The song was nominated for Best Rock Video at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. It currently has over two million certified unit sales in the U.S.

10. Bones

Bones is one of the four singles from the group’s latest studio album, Mercury Acts 1 & 2. It was released in March 2022 after their Tiktok announcement in the same month. It was used in the series tesser of The Boys a day after its release.

The official video, inspired by The Wolf Of Wall Street, was released in April 2022 and has over 124 million views on YouTube. It was number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs. It surpassed one million streams in Greece and two hundred thousand certified units in France.

 

Other bangers from the American rock band are Follow You (2021), Shots (2015), and its collaborative project with Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Ty Dolla Sign, and X Ambassador’s Sucker for Pain (2016).
