10 Most Famous American Business Women

For decades, women have been setting the way for entrepreneurs in every field. From Estée Lauder, who started her cosmetics firm in the 1940s, to Ruth Fertel, who intended to open the greatest steakhouse in the world—Chris Ruth’s Steak House—women entrepreneurs have proven that they can overcome economic and business challenges to achieve their goals.

Women entrepreneurs now work in a variety of fields. The ten most successful female entrepreneurs who have had a big impact in recent decades are listed below. This list isn’t in any particular order, and it’s far from comprehensive, but it aims to honour women who have developed a global brand through their own hard work and determination.

1. Diane Hendricks

Diane Hendricks is the chair and co-founder of Hendricks Holding Co. and ABC Supply in Beloit, Wisconsin, which is the country’s biggest roofing supply company. According to press sources, she is the wealthiest woman in Wisconsin, but she repeatedly fails to pay state income taxes. She is Governor Scott Walker’s greatest contributor, as well as a supporter of the Koch Network and the Republican Party.

2. Doris Fisher

Fisher, 73, and her husband Donald launched the first Gap shop in San Francisco in 1969, subsequently expanding into BabyGap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. In order to boost sales, the business is attempting to refocus Gap’s offerings for women and revamp Gap shops. Despite the fact that she and her husband are no longer in direct charge of the company on a day-to-day basis, they remain members of the board of directors. In late 2004, the two gave their three boys half of their 19 percent stake in the firm.

3. Janice Bryant Howroyd

Janice Bryant Howroyd is the creator of ActOne Group, the first Black female-led firm to have a revenue of $1 billion.

ActOne is primarily a Los Angeles-based employment agency and consulting firm. It has over 17,000 clients in 19 countries, and Howroyd, like many of her peers on this list, began with extremely humble beginnings. In 1978, she started her business at barely $1,500. Forbes’ 2020 America’s Richest Self-Made Women list includes her.

When it comes to money, there are several possible dichotomies. The consumerist society’s typical attitude is one of excessive honour and jealousy. On the other side, the pure, so-called idealistic fraternity’s reaction is scorn. As a result, being affluent is either a blessing or a curse.

Nowadays, personal wealth is either regarded as a source of jealousy or as a source of evil. But when you read about these women, doesn’t it make you feel like you genuinely have a lot more work to do and actually climb the ladder? Because there’s really no excuse.
