Top 5 places with live music in Paris

Sainte Chapelle for classical music

Saint-Chapelle

The first place of this top 5 places with live music in Paris is also a great place to visit. If you want to spend an incredible night listening to classical music in Paris once in your life, the Sainte Chapelle is the place to go!

This building, built in the 1250’s, is a jewel of the Gothic style and is famous for its multicolored stain-glass windows. It’s a heaven for the eyes and for the ears. And if you want to complete your magnificent evening, you can just book your places with an extra of champagne. The only problem is the price. If you want to get the dinner and concert deal, you will have to pay more than forty euros. You will need to check the agenda for the upcoming classical events. I definitely recommend this place if you are a classical music lover! Also, you need to know that at the end of a guided tour with our company, you have the possibility to get cheaper places for the Sainte Chapelle concerts!

Les Trois Baudets for French eclectic music

TroisBaudets

Les Trois Baudets is a very nice place for French music in Paris and has its place in this top 5 places with live music in Paris, in particular thanks to the presence of a restaurant upstairs! The façade of this building is very typical of the Art Nouveau style, and was renovated a few years ago.

A lot of very famous French singers began on this stage in the 1950’s, like Boris Vian, Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel or Juliette Gréco. Today, you will find there a lot of new talents, but also confirmed artists, and it’s stimulating! It’s a nice place if you want to spend hours hearing the new trends in French music for a modest price. The eclectic programming is for all the tastes! Check the website if you want to see a style in particular.

Le Divan du Monde for eclectic music, electro, rock

divan-du-monde

This place is original, and it’s hard to choose a category for it in this top 5 places with live music in Paris. It’s a very old room, opened in 1890 and which was welcoming a lot of VIPs like Toulouse-Lautrec, Baudelaire or Picasso; but you will find there all the new technologies today: visual installations and performances, world music concerts but also a great place for clubbing, and the acoustic is amazing.

Nowadays, it certainly is an original, unique place, and a great place to discover during a night. The Madame Arthur’s transvestite troupe perform every night and offer you a live show of French songs. The prices can vary a lot, from fifteen to fifty euros! But the drinks are a little less expensive, they will cost between five and seven euros. But I advise you to go there, the evenings are not so busy and if you like especially electro music, it’s a great place after 11 pm.

Tuesday-Thursday 8:00 pm – 2:00 am, Friday and Saturday 7:30 pm – 5:00 am
Located at 75 rue des Martyrs
Metro station: Pigalle or Abbesses (lines 2, 12)

Caveau de la Huchette for jazz music

huchette

This top 5 places with live music couldn’t forget a jazz club! The Caveau de la Huchette is typical of the tradition of the clubs in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and in the Latin Quarter. It opened in 1946 and a lot of great jazz-men and women spent time in this medieval vault.

Every night, a concert is programmed at 10:15 pm. During the week-end, after 2 am the music becomes swing, rock, soul music and disco. Anyway, everybody dances on the dance floor with a pretty happy ambiance. The jazz orchestras are always very good and I promise you that you will certainly dance all night long! If you want to avoid to pay a fee, the Caveau des Oubliettes is not so far (Rue Galande), and you just have to pay for your drinks.

Sunday – Thursday 9:30 pm – 2:30 am, Friday-Saturday 9:30 pm – 4:00 am (with free entrance from 2:00 am)

Les Disquaires for all the styles

disquaires

It was hard to put this place away from the top 5 places with live music in Paris! Les Disquaires is first a bar, but the live music is awesome inside: all the styles are here! You have lyrical singing, jazz music, soul, but also funk, soul, rock, and some evenings, DJs are here for an electro and R’n’B ambiance.

You can call before and book a corner of the bar for a group and have some discounts. You can choose the dance floor or the tables if you just want a drink. The drinks are not so expensive, especially during the happy hour (between 3€ and 5€), you can arrive with some sandwiches or take away food. It’s noisy but funny – great if you want to know new people or to party with your friends! And the groups are very very good.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5 pm to 4 am. Fridays and Saturdays 5 pm to 5 am.
