Top 5 places to eat near the Champs Elysees

Are you visiting the right bank of Paris? Then, you also will eventually end up walking the Champs Elysees! This impressive avenue is almost two kilometers long. It starts at Place de la Concorde and ends at Place Charles de Gaulles where the Arc de Triomphe stands at its center.

The Champs Elysees got its name from the “Elysian Fields”. In Greek religious and philosophical beliefs, these fields are an afterlife place in hell where the worthy souls rest in peace.

The queen Marie de Médicis decided to built her Tuileries Palace (which no longer exists), close to the Seine river, 1616. The area needed to be as majestic as its inhabitants, so Louis the fourteenth tasked André Le Nôtre, the landscape architect of both the Tuileries garden and the Versailles Palace, to pursue the development of the area surrounding the Tuileries palace. That’s when the Champs Elysees in Paris started taking shape in 1670.

The Champs Elysées are now the most famous avenue in Paris and it is one of the most emblematic avenues of the right bank of Paris! While visiting the city, you will necessarily end up walking the majestic avenue. For instance, to get to the Arc de Triomphe or even the Eiffel Tower!
