1. Bale Grew Up In Different Countries

Bale was born in South Africa on September 2, 1941, to English parents. His father was Philip Bale and was a Royal Air Force pilot. He grew up in Egypt, England and Channel Island.

He worked as a commercial pilot, hoping to provide aid to the needy communities in Africa and developing countries.

Bale’s first wife was Sandra Kreunen; they were married in South Africa. The marriage ended in 1964 after she filed for divorce when she returned to England to visit his mother. They had a daughter together, Erin Bale Kreunen.

However, Bale got married the second time to Jenny James in England. The marriage also ended in a divorce. They had three children with Jenny James: Louise, Sharon and Christian.

Bale married for the third time to Gloria Steinem on September 3, 2000. Gloria Steinem was a journalist, feminist writer and social and political activist.

The charity was created in 1978 for the sole purpose of financing anti-poaching patrols and preventing further poaching by proving a conducive and secure environment for them to thrive peacefully.

Bale supported the causes of gorillas and worked tirelessly to safeguard the natural habitat of gorillas. The organization’s president once said, “he saw gorillas as icons for their rainforest habitat.”
