1. It is sited in Sentosa Island

The indoor skydiving facility sited on Sentosa island is themed around an airport, featuring a flight status board, sensory simulations of aeroplane noises around and check-in passes to give visitors a wholesome “flying” experience. IFly Singapore opened in May 2011 and boasts a 5-story tunnel with the wind blowing up to 180km/hr in a controlled environment.

The indoor skydiving wind tunnel is 16.5 feet in diameter and 56.5 feet tall surrounded by an 18 feet acrylic glass wall.

The official opening of the IFly Singapore was on 18 May 2011 and it was officiated by the former foreign minister, Mr George Yeo! He suited up in his own personalized red flight suit and helmet, and flow in the wind tunnel with the rousing support of the guest.

2. IFly Singapore gives flyers a view of the south china sea

IFly Singapore is the only wind tunnel in the world that offers flyers an unparalleled view of the south china sea. The wind tunnel is situated higher up the second storey of the building, just flying at low heights entitles you to views of Siloso Beach and the South China Sea.

If you take the flight at night you will get the backdrop of fireworks from Sentosa’s wings of time performance too.

3. It is the world’s largest vertical tunnel for indoor skydiving

At a height of 56.5 ft. with a diameter of 16.5ft, IFly Singapore is one of the world’s largest vertical wind tunnels and can accommodate up to 20 professional flyers at one time. The flight chamber is comparable to a five-storey tower.

IFly Singapore was awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015 highlighting its dedication to providing an enjoyable experience for all its visitors. The entire body facility is themed like an airport terminal and offers a consumer flight journey, unlike any other tunnel.

4. IFly Singapore’s first human flight was on 26 Nov 2010

The first human flight at IFly Singapore was by the Founder and managing director of IFly Singapore, Mr Lawrence Koh, on 26 November 2010.

5. It has an impressive  haul of 10 Guinness World Records

IFly Singapore has an impressive record haul of 10 Guinness World Records titles under its sleeve. One outstanding world record is the Guinness world record for the longest indoor freefall of 4 hours 22 minutes and 20 seconds, which is equivalent to falling from a height of 2,766,720 feet or 843,296 meters through the air.

To mark IFly Singapore’s 4th anniversary and to commemorate the nation’s 50th birthday, the IFly Singapore team attempted 5 Guinness World Records in under 30 minutes!

6. It is the first wind tunnel to be ISO accredited

IFly Singapore is the first world tunnel in the world to be accredited with the ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. These certifications ensure that every possible step that has been taken to safeguard the customer’s flight experience is undertaken in a risk-free environment.

The International Body Flight Association ensures that indoor skydiving at IFly Singapore promotes safety.

7. IFly conducts vigorous pre-flight training

After registering to skydive, you will watch an introductory video that assures you that its instructors are certified by the international body flight association, with at least 50 hours of flight training and are seasoned veterans of skydiving championships.

You’ll also receive more facts and figures about the wind tunnel and that the cable net is strong enough to hold 200 adults of 100kg each. Thereafter, a coach guides you through the body flight process, showing you the basic flying position, simple hand signals he will use to communicate with you when both of you are in the tunnel and the procedure to get in and out of the tunnel.

The coach also shows pointers on safety and you are required to do a little stretching to get ready.

8. IFly Singapore gives certificates after your flight

When you visit an IFly indoor skydiving facility, after your flight you will receive an indoor skydive certificate indicating what components you mastered!

9. Its flight instructors can stand in the tunnel

Because of the lesser surface area presented and their flight experience, flight instructors can stand in the wind tunnel! The more surface area you present to the wind, the slower you will fall. The less surface area you have, the faster you will fall.

10. IFly Singapore’s oldest indoor “skydiver” was 103 years old

The oldest person to indoor skydive is an adventurous 103 years old lady from Florida.

To Fly with IFly Singapore- you should weigh less than 120kg,  be 1.8-meter-tall, you should not be pregnant, you should not be in a cast and you should not have a history of shoulder dislocation, or back or neck injury.

The youngest body flyer is seven and the oldest stands at 103 years old! IFly Singapore lets kids who are at least seven years of age fly.
