MegaZip is basically a zipline operated by Mega Adventure Park in the picturesque Sentosa Island in Singapore. The MegaZip spans 450 meters over the island’s jungles and beaches.

 Clients at the MegaZip travel at an approximate speed of 60 kilometers per hour over the zip wires. In addition to MegaZip, Mega Adventure Park operates four other activities in Sentosa Island.

 The other activities operated by the Park include a dynamic bungee assisted trampolines called the MegaBounce, a 25-meter free fall simulator called the MegaJump, a 36-obstacle treetop ropes course known as the MegaClimb and a rock-climbing activity called the MegaWall.

1. The MegaZip Is Arguably the Steepest in South East Asia

The MegaZip also known as the MegaZip flying fox is launched from the peak of Imbiah Hill which is about 75 meters above ground level.

The zip lines end at a man-made island opposite Siloso beach.  The zip wire lines are so steep that the MegaZip flying fox reaches speeds of 60 kilometers per hour.

A customized “zipper” which is connected to the zip lines rolls clients down the zip line from the start at Imbiah Hill to the man-made island opposite Siloso Beach. In South East Asia, the MegaZip flying fox is the steepest flying fox.

The MegaZip is made up of three zip lines which are launched from the peak of Imbiah Hill and terminate at the man-made island opposite Siloso Beach.

The MegaZip flying fox moves at an exhilarating speed of 60 kilometers per hour and at a height of 75 meters above ground which is among the fastest in the world.

The fastest zip line is Zip World Velocity 2 which is located in Penrhyn Slate Quarry, located near Bethesda in North Wales. Suspended at 152.4 meters above ground, clients fly down the zip line at an amazing speed of over 160 kilometers per hour.

Latest pricing indicates that it costs a person $29 to ride on the zip lines.  The zip lines can accommodate six harnessed riders on a scenic trip on the zip line.

Riders enjoy the scenic trip over the treetops and sand beaches over the Siloso beach suspended on a zip wire at 75 meters above ground.

Riders start the journey at 60 kilometers per hour. However, as they approach the landing platform, a braking system slows down the speed of the flying fox.

5. MegaZip is One of The Adventure Activities at The Park

MegaZip is one of the outdoor adventure activities operated by Mega Adventure Park in Sentosa Island.  The other adventure activities which are open to both children and adults include the Mega Climb, the MegaJump, the MegaWall and the MegaBounce.

The Mega Climb is a 36-obstacle treetop rope course while the Mega Jump is a 15-meter free fall simulator. The MegaWall is a rock-climbing wall while the MegaBounce is a bungy trampoline game.

6. The Riding Experience is Scary for Some and Exciting for Others

Riders including children do not find riding on the MegaZip frightening at all.  Many find the experience as being full of fun and amazing. Many riders describe the experience as exciting with many indicating that they would want to do it over and over again.

While many riders could be heard exchanging a few words as they descended on the zip lines, some people were nervous at first and were even heard screaming as they zipped off towards the man-made island.

However, many clients when interviewed disclose that they screamed due to the fun and excitement and not out of fright.

 7. Not Everyone Can Be Permitted on The MegaZip

The Management of Mega Adventure Park has provided guidelines to ensure the MegaZip is only used by the right customers and prevent accidents from happening.

 The minimum height for clients using MegaZip has been set at 90 centimeters while the weight of clients must be between 30 kilograms at the minimum and 140 kilograms at the maximum.

Children whose weight is below 90 kilograms and have a height of above 90 centimeters must use the zip line in the company of another person.

8. Medical Conditions Are Considered Before Admitting Clients Into MegaZip

For safety reasons the medical condition of a client is reviewed before they are allowed on the zip lines. Participation on the zip lines is not permitted for clients who are pregnant or have a medical condition.

Clients who are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine are not permitted on the zip lines.

In addition, all guests must be able to fit into the company’s safety harness provided by the company.  Clients who are overweight may therefore find it difficult to access the zip lines.

9. The MegaZip is Easily Accessible on Foot or By Road

The Mega Adventure Park where the MegaZip is operated from is easily accessible on foot or by public transport means.

Clients can walk along Siloso Beach Road and the counter for the Mega Adventure Park will be on the left after an 800-meter walk. 

Clients can also hop on the free beach tram which travel towards Siloso Beach to get to the MegaZip.

10. The Experience is Non-refundable and Cannot Be Changed

Pre-purchasing the MegaZip ticket can be a major hustle as at times clients are forced to line up and climb to the top to redeem them. 

Most of the times clients have to queue to get to the top and also to redeem the receipts which can be tedious and frustrating at times.

The experience is nevertheless non-refundable and cannot be changed no matter the reason given.

The amount paid is not refundable even if clients request for amendments or decide to cancel the whole experience all together.
