Beto Carrero World is a theme park in Penha. This amusement park is one of Santa Catarina’s signature parks in Brazil.

Being the largest theme park in Latin America, Beto Carrero occupies 5 miles of land that is divided into 8 theme areas.

This park was opened on December 28, 1991, and is among the top six best amusement parks in the world. Joao Batista is the man behind this park, he brought his childhood reality to life.

This park is the most famous and largest of all theme parks in Brazil and Latin America.  It was officially opened in 1991 and has since been the cherry of Santa Catarina.

Another cultural village is Old West. This is a small village with buildings typical of the old west. You will find interesting themes featured in so famous in movies such as chapel and its saloons.

This park is a dream come true for its founder, João Batista Sérgio Murad. He grew up poor in rural Sao Paulo.

Joao was a successful businessman who ventured in different fields such as radio, rodeo promotion and marketing. He eventually worked on his childhood dream of building an amusement park.

This dream was achieved when he was 54 and he named the park Beto Carrero. The name was adopted from his cowboy character that was featured in Brazilian movies.

The beautiful zoo has over a thousand animals, such as giraffes, elephants, tigers, zebras, monkeys, and lions. They have also partnered with international companies like Dreamworks Animation and Universal Studios.
