Rome is a wonderful place full of many things to see. Tourists from all over the world love to visit it and admire the history of the “eternal city“. But they aren’t the only ones. Many Celebrities from all over the world arrive in Rome every year to visit it or for work reasons. There are a lot of places where they like to go and spend their free time in Rome. Let’s see together where and how to meet celebrities in Rome.

As you know sometimes they don’t like who bothers them but if you ask kindly and don’t disturb them during lunch and dinner they will probably autograph everything for you!

Celebrities like to visit Rome whenever they can. Sometimes they’re inspired by the movie “Roman holidays” or maybe “La dolce vita” and sometimes they visit it for work reasons or festivals.

The “Bella vita Romana” is something everyone wants to try at least once in their lifetime. Enjoying good food and wine, visiting museums and historical places, walking and admiring all the roman beauties is something that you need to try too!

But once in Rome, you’ll probably find celebrities in different parts. It all depends if there are events or festivals and maybe some fashion shows. Or you can find them wandering around the Colosseum or the Fori Imperiali who knows!

If you are in Rome then keep a close eye on the celebrity’s social media so you will find out where they are and run immediately to see them.

If you are a fan of Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez or even Madonna then follow them on their social media. In this way, you’ll be able to find out where they are in Rome in a very easy way!

Even the internet will help you find out where they are! So remember to check out newspapers and magazines online before going around Rome.

Festivals are the main reasons why celebrities arrive in Rome. They like to participate in the Rome Film Festival, the Asvoff Festival, Cinema Festival and many more. They don’t have a precise date during the year so you need to check on the web to find the event and when it starts so you can find your favourite celebrity. For example, ALTAROMA has a calendar for their festival that you can find it directly on their website here and probably it will start in July 2022.

The Rome Film Festival for example starts in October and usually attracts big stars like Jason Momoa, Dakota Fanning and many others. You need to do a little search on the web to find out. Usually, these kinds of events are organized in the Fori Imperiali, Colosseum, Auditorium Parco Della Musica and many more.

If you love fashion then you know when and where to find celebrities in Rome. For example, in 2019 Romans had Momoa and Lisa Bonet participating in the Fendi Couture Fashion Show with Catherine Zeta-Jones and also with Zoey Deutch and Zendaya.

Fashion shows are the best way to meet celebrities. If you can buy tickets to the events then it will be even easier to meet them!

Some fashion events don’t have tickets and are private. For this reason, I suggest waiting outside the main event location and taking pictures as soon you see them catching a taxi or maybe a limo. You can even wait for them while they take pictures for the press and ask them for an autograph. They will probably stop by and smile for you!

Keep checking the website of the event to find out details about the organization, date and street where the event will take part. This is the only way to “participate” and snap an autograph and a picture.

Celebrities as tourists

As already said, celebrities love to spend their free time around Rome visiting the main attractions and probably avoiding fans and people. So I suggest you visit the main attraction in Rome and have an eye to spot them around the “eternal city“. Sometimes is very difficult to recognize them around so often you won’t find them and you won’t have the opportunity to meet a celebrity in Rome. But with a spy eye, you’ll be able to find them visiting: 

1. The Colosseum;
2. Fori Imperiali;
3.  Have dinner at “Da Pierluigi”;
4. Shopping around Via del Corso;
5. Visit Piazza di Spagna;
6. Go to the theatre “Teatro delle Vittorie”;
7. Take a stroll around the Rai Studios;
8.  Stroll around Hotel Hassler where they love to stay!
9. Give a try at the Hotel De Russie;
10.  Try once again at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel;
11.  Have a coffee at Piazza Farnese;
12. Ride a bike near Via Frattina.

Many Italian celebrities live in Rome. If you are on a quest to find them then check these zones  of the city: 

1. In the Olgiata area of Rome you’ll find many football players and actors;
2. Axa, Casal Palocco and Eurosky Tower for more football players;
3. Monti Parioli for soubrette and actors.
4. Lungo Tevere Flaminio for some comedy actors.

Tips:

Celebrities will visit Rome all year round for work but when on holiday they like to visit it during spring and summer. If you wish to see them visiting the Colosseum or other places then try to visit Rome during summer. It will be free and you will have the opportunity to snap a photo with them and also an autograph.
