10 Restaurants You Have to Visit Near the Pantheon in Rome

The Pantheon is one of Rome’s proudest monuments. It’s one of the earliest buildings in the country, and it’s a wonder that it is still standing considering it was constructed just 125 years AD.

Since the Pantheon is within walking distance from the Trevi Fountain, most choose to do both of these attractions on the same day. Following your visit, here are a few great restaurants close by to rest and refuel.

1. Taverna del Seminario in Rome

When you just need somewhere wholesome and consistently good to eat, Taverna del Seminario comes highly recommended.

This is traditional Italian cuisine. You’ll find it hard to find anything else this close to such an important Roman monument.

Considering how close it is to the tourist attraction, however, Taverna del Seminario is reasonably priced with impeccable service. I too highly recommend it.

For those who really can’t stand the thought of another pizza or pasta after their Pantheon visit, there’s always T-Burger Station.

This is an American style diner serving up junk food in quite an upmarket setting. This is a great spot for families with kids as the menu is quite varied, offering a range of burgers, pancakes, baked goods and even salads.

3. La Sagrestia in Rome

La Sagrestia is a sweet little spot serving up the same traditional meals you’re probably very familiar with by now.

The interior is intricately painted and whisks you away to a village in Naples, giving you a break from the bustling Roman streets for a while.

Their pasta is consistently good, but their pizza is something else. Again, completely inspired by Naples and the cooking techniques of the region. Bravo!

4. L’Antica Salumeria in Rome

Your visit to the Pantheon might not permit a full sit down dining experience between itineraries. In this event, try to find the L’Antica Salumeria deli situated a short walk from the Pantheon’s main entrance.

This quirky looking shop has an inviting array of cured meats, breads and cheeses on display at all times, and you can guide the clerk in building the perfect midday snack to keep you going.

The Lost Food Factory is another quirky spot just a few paces south from the Pantheon.

This is a sandwich shop where the space is small but the food and service are sublime. The Lost Food Factory makes custom sandwiches from a range of fresh ingredients. They have breads baked daily and even a few vegan options for the plant eating visitors.

If your visit to the Pantheon happens to fall during the spring or summer in Rome, then I must recommend a sit down dining experience at this charming trattoria.

Osteria del Sostegno has a few outdoor tables suitable for when the weather is good. It’s an ambient restaurant setting that begs you to take advantage of the courtyard seating from the moment you walk in.

The menu? Traditional Italian at its finest. Enjoy!

7. Collegio – Cucina, Vini & Liquori in Rome

Collegio – Cucina, Vini & Liquori graciously translates to kitchen, wine and liquor. This is a good summation of what you can expect you dining experience at Collegio to include.

What I like about Collegio is that it is situated in a quiet side street, away from all of the chaos coming from the Pantheon hotspot.

Be sure to try their homemade olive oil.

8. Restaurante L’Eau Vive in Rome

I was pleasantly surprised to find this French eatery so close to the entrance of the Pantheon. I have no idea how this cuisine came to exist right outside of such an important Italian monument, but I’m not complaining.

The Restaurante L’Eau Vive is a glimpse into all of the best parts of French cuisine. It is also a unique space in that there are a group of nuns present each evening who sing the night away.

9. Cremeria Monteforte in Rome

This roundup wouldn’t be complete without at least one spot for good gelato near the Pantheon.

The Cremeria Monteforte is practically on the doorstep of the monument; right on the westernmost boundary.

This gelato parlor is reasonably priced and has an abundance of flavors to choose from. Unfortunately, as a means of crowd control, you’ll only be permitted to taste one flavor before making your final choice. Choose wisely!

10. Gruppo Di Rienzo in Rome

All good and well finding places to eat near the Pantheon, but what if you wanted to eat while starring directly at the Pantheon?

I give you Gruppo Di Rienzo; a cafe with an outdoor terrace offering front row seats to the Pantheon front facade. Here you’ll dine on pastas and sea food, while sipping coffee and wine through until 2am.

The view is astounding, but you’ll see this for yourself.
