10 Best Restaurants near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

The Trevi Fountain is one of Rome’s unmissable attractions. The sheer beauty of the ancient construction is worth the hype and the perpetual crowds that come along with it.

You won’t struggle to eat while in this area, but you might struggle to get a table at a lot of the places nearest to the fountain. The following are a few spots nearby, within walking distance of the chaos.

A table awaits…

1. Trattoria al Moro near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

I’ll start this off with some traditional Roman cuisine. Trattoria al Moro is close to the fountain and offers all of Rome’s classic dishes in a stylist, 1920s style dining room with wooden finishes.

Expect a full restaurant even at the most obscure of times. This is a tourist hotspot and the food is perfectly executed, making for a never-ending stream of clientele.

If you’re coming into Trevi just to eat, then a prior reservation would be highly recommended.

2. White Srl near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

White Srl makes this roundup purely because of their lavish street-dining setup.

Undoubtably one of the most charming restaurants in all of Trevi, White Srl can be spotted from right down the alley by its pretty pink tables and chairs bestowed underneath dangling lacy French umbrellas.

The outdoor area is where you want to sit, as the interior is a simple and underwhelming space. The menu at White Srl is traditional Roman pizza as well as a few classic dishes. Of course, tiramisu and coffee need to end off your outdoor dining experience here.

3. Piccolo Buco near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Piccolo Buco have started a pizza frenzy in Trevi.

Being so close to the fountain, there are usually persistent waiting periods just to get inside of this spot. The fact that the menu is so affordable, adds to the appeal.

What’s more, Piccolo Buco make dream pizzas. I don’t say this lightly. Few places in Rome offer thin based pizzas with thick, chewy crusts such as these. Doused in sauce and high quality cheese, you don’t even need additional toppings to seal the deal.

Come hungry, and consider treating yourself to a full pizza and side of their house pastas. Portions are totally manageable and you’ll be thrilled to taste everything the spot has to offer.

4. Baccano near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Moving away from Italian food, Baccano brings Trevi visitors the food of the Med.

Via a perfectly curated menu, you’ll eat classic dishes stemming from the coastal regions of France, Spain and even Croatia. Baccano is designed like a traditional French brasserie, with high ceilings and contemporary furniture.

At Baccano, their cocktail menu is a sought after attraction as well. Not to mention this is one of few restaurants in the Trevi neighborhood that is open morning until morning. Yes, 8:30am until 2am, seven days a week.

Around major meal times Boccano tends to be incredibly busy, but for good reason. Get here promptly if you want a table!

5. Giolitti near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Giolitti is not a restaurant per say, but it deserves a spot on this list due to its sheer opulence.

Housed in a room that looks like something out of an Italian Renaissance paining, Giolitti is a treat factory that anyone with a sweet tooth needs to visit while near the fountain.

It is predominantly an ice cream parlor, offering an impressive array of naturally flavored gelato. Then there is a baked goods section of pastries and tarts, all made fresh daily.

The ordering system at Giolitti is a little confusing at first visit. Order and pay first at the till, and then take your slip over to the servers behind the ice cream bar and they will prepare your goods.

6. Crispi 19 near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Should you feel inclined to treat yourself to some fine dining while exploring Trevi, then Crispi 19 is the place to be.

This is a haute seafood restaurant intended to give diners a unique flavor experience over a multitude of courses.

By Roman standards, this is actually phenomenal value for money. Given the service and quality of food, Crispi 19 could quite well be charging double what they currently are per plate.

A truly memorable experience, and one you’ll have to make a reservation for.

7. Ippokrates near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Ippokrates is one of Rome’s more reputable Greek restaurants. The menu is very authentic, as is the actual dining room that is laden with blue and white checkered tablecloths & Greek flags.

I love that this spot exists so near to the Trevi Fountain as it gives everyone an alternative cuisine to Italian when in need of somewhere to refuel during the day.

While Ippokrates caters well to meat eaters (lamb, souvlake, etc), they also have a number of adaptable dishes for vegans and vegetarians. If you’d like a vegan or vegetarian-friendly gyro, chat with the staff about substituting the meats with falafel or aubergine, and the tzatziki with hummus or melitzanosalata.

To sweeten the deal, Ippokrates is also very reasonably priced!

8. Lime near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Lime is within walking distance of Ippokrates, and brands itself as an “ethnic restaurant”.

From my experience here, Lime is a tapas eatery that draws inspiration from cuisines all over the world. You’ll eat a hamburger alongside a quesadilla-type dish, with a side of chicken tenders and perhaps a Middle Eastern wrap.

This unique and well executed spot is a favorite for Roman travelers and locals alike. You’ll rarely find an empty table, so make a booking if this is where you want to spend your Trevi evening.

Lime have also incorporated a bit of a tiki bar vibe into their experience. You’ll understand once you see the cocktail menu.

9. T-Bone Station near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

The T-Bone Station in Trevi is a traditional chophouse restaurant. What is chophouse, you might ask? Well chophouse is basically just a house of chopped animal parts waiting to go from kitchen to your plate.

This is meat eaters galore; steaks, burgers, chops, skewers… any variant of meat you can imagine is available here. Most dishes are served with a side salad or French fries, but the main even is always the meats and marinades in which they are served.

It goes without saying that vegans and vegetarians should seek elsewhere to dine.

10. Temakinho near the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Sushi is not something you’ll find available in abundance near the Trevi Fountain. Thankfully the Temakinho restaurant chain opened up a branch not far from the attraction, and it’s done incredibly well with the tourists.

Temakinho – by Temakinho – Uploaded by them

This giant eatery fuses traditional sushi plates with contemporary takes on classic Japanese dishes. It’s a vibrant menu and the food is almost always as colorful as the space in which you are eating.

Prices at Temakinho are reasonable, but beware that they charge €4 for water.
