Chances are you’ve heard of the quality shops and stores in the bustling city of Prague. Although the city is known for its nightlife, cultural attractions, beer, food, and friendly locals, there is some out-of-this-world shopping that will make you come back for more year after year!

But where do you start? In a city this big, it is helpful to know where to begin.

Nove Mesto

Some of the best shopping streets include Nove Mesto. After Walking across Charles Bridge, checking out Old Town sQuare, and marveling at the Vltava River, head to Nove Mesto to start shopping around Prague’s cobblestone streets.

Nove Mesto, known as ‘New Town’, is the hub of commercial shopping and boutique stores. The two main shopping areas to head to are Wenceslas Square and Na Prikiope. Check out the Palladium, containing over two dozen restaurants and 200 shops that are sure to give you the perfect date night outfit or souvenir for a friend back home.

Then, head to Cerna Ruz, a fancier shopping center that has boutique shops with Prague-centric fashion and home decor. If you are feeling a bit peckish after shopping for so long, walk to the Farmers market at Namesti Republiky to eat some fresh local fruit, purchase some trinkets to bring back home, and shop for fresh vegetables for dinner that night.

Once you have stocked up on fresh food and groceries, we recommend continuing on towards Cesky Granat Turnov in Nove Mesto to get a piece of jewelry for your girlfriend!

Top of the list: Destroy, Hana Havelkova, Desigual, LEGO Shop, Dana Bohemia, Bila Labut, Kotva, Palladium

Stare Mesto

Stare Mesto is the Old Town District, and contains numerous historical attractions, churches, restaurants, pubs, bars, and shops! We recommend checking out the Old Town historical section that is car-free and pedestrian-only, featuring massive shopping centers like MYSLBEK Shopping Center or Fashion Shop PARAZIT.

MYSLBEK, located near the Powder Tower on Na Prikope, contains hundreds of indoor shops that are perfect for a rainy day in Prague.

Na Prikope

Continue along Na Prikope after heading to MYSLBEK and you will soon see Slovanský Dům, a huge shopping center that has some of the best cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants, stores, and beauty salons in the Old Town area. Plus, you can even watch movies inside — in English!

We recommend heading here, not only to marvel at the outside architecture, but to see the inside of this sprawling shopping complex.

Pankrac

Although this area is more known for its residential homes and businesses, it has some great shopping. Escape the city center and head to Arkady Pankrac, a massive shopping mall that is within a few minutes’ via public transportation of both Old Town and New Town.

Novy Smichov Shopping Center is a high-class fashion mall that is easy to reach in the city center by metro line B, tram lines, or buses. Head here to check out some of the biggest designer names, ranging from low-budget options like H&M to some of the more ritzy designers, like L’Occitane or Benetton.

Chodov

Chodov is a residential area of Prague that is typically off of tourists’ must-go lists. However, it is a great spot to get a rational fear of what the Prague locals are like, learn more about the Czech culture, and get some of the best shopping deals in the city. Head to Chodov Shopping Mall, one of the largest cities in all of the country, and choose between your pick of electronics stores, boutiques, flower shops, clothing stores, and sporting goods shops.
