The Prague Castle is one of the most prominent landmarks in the entire country of the Czech Republic — and Europe as a whole. This castle complex is a massive structure in the capital city of the Czech Republic that is the official office of the President and former seat for the kings of Bohemia, Bohemian crown jewels, and previous Holy Roman emperors. The Old Royal Palace is pretty yeast to see for me outside. With gold furnishings, intricate details, pillars, massive doors, and a Czech Republic flag flying outside of the gate, the ‘Stary Kralovsky Palac’ is one of the most noticeable buildings in the entire city. Dating back to the 90th century, this Palace was mainly used during the 14th century when Emperor Charles IV needed a meeting point for functions, parties, and events.

The largest Christain building in the entire country, the Vitus Cathedral, is the current location of the Archbishop of Prague after being founded in 925AD. Although it was susceptible to numerous diseases, plagues, invasions, wars, and natural disasters, the Vitus Cathedral still somehow was completed over 500 years after it first began to take shape. 

We recommend heading to the outside to get a beautiful view of the stained glass windows, viewing the St. Wenceslas Chapel with the jewel-dotted altar, and heading to the Treasury to see ancient collections. 

The Basilica of St. George

The Basilica of St. George (also known as the Bazilika SV Jiri) is the oldest religious structure within the Prague Castle internal complex. After all, the Prague Castle isn’t just one building – it is a massive internal and external complex that contains numerous buildings, outdoor space, and historical importance over the years.

The Golden Lane

Featuring one of the best collections of medieval buildings in the entire country, the Golden Lane contains an issuer of historical importance, literature-based history, and various displays of textiles.

The Riding School and Imperial Stables

Another Place to visit while you head to the Prague Castle Complex during your memorable holiday in the Czech Republic is the Riding School and Imperial STables. Serving as an exhibition hall and the housing place of the Picture Gallery, this Baroque-style building is something you can’t miss. Feeling a bit peckish and thirsty after a few miles’ walk around the castle complex? If so, Wenceslas’ Vineyard is the perfect place within walking distance of the historical building. Not to mention, you can take a meandering trail on the hillside of the bustling city of Prague to reach the vineyard, have a glass of local Cabernet, and gaze out at the red-roofed buildings down below. Plus, keep an eye out for the Petrin Tower in the distance!
