When watching your favourite movie or television series, it is most likely because you like the star of the film. Most of the time it escapes our mind where they could be from. one can be so engrossed in their character and not tell what their real-life character is like.

Most of them are so talented and switch up their accents and roles that you would want to know their background. Well, if this has been the case in trying to figure out who your favourite celebrity is, keep reading.

On this blog, we’ll look at the top 10 celebrities that were born in Paris. Some were born and raised here while others moved with their parents to new locations.

1. Emma Watson- Paris

We start with Emma Watson. She is an English actress, model, and activist. Emma was born in Paris and brought up in Oxfordshire in England.

She did all her schooling in England; she went to Dragon school where she trained as an actress at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts.

Emma started her acting career quite young and had a role in the famous children’s franchise Harry porter. This was her first professional show having only acted in school plays.

She has been featured in several other blockbuster movies and has bagged several nominations for her roles.

Other than excelling on stage and set, Emma excelled in academics too.

2. Roman Polanski- 12th Arrondissement of Paris

Another celebrity is Roman Polanski, he is a celebrated film director, producer, and actor. Roman began his film career in Poland then moved to United Kingdom United States and France. His famous American film was horror titled Rosemary’s Baby.

Roman was born after WWII and is said to have had a very difficult childhood. His mother died during the holocaust. His father was separated from him for some time too.

To escape his reality, he immersed himself in films because it captivated him. He was reunited with his father and shortly after went to study film at the National Film School in Poland.

3. Francois Arouet, Voltaire- Paris

Francois Arouet, better known by his pen name Voltaire, was a literary genius whose dazzling writings was seen by critics as being controversial. Voltaire’s writing questioned popular philosophical and religious beliefs.

He criticized political institutions and this rubbed his targets the wrong way.  this led to his prosecution, jail term and was sent on exile.

His work was not loved by many that read it leading to the destruction of his books. He was considered to be a harsh critic and this earned him enemies of equal measure.

He did not spare his government, he criticized the leadership calling it ineffective, and full of arrogant people. Voltaire further described the church as being static, corrupt and parasitic.

The roman catholic church and the French Government saw him as an enemy.

Voltaire was seen by a few a civil rights crusader that lobbied for freedom of religion, fair trial and the separation of the church and the state.

He is considered to be one of the greatest philosophers to have ever lived.

4. Morgane Polanski- Paris

Morgane Polanski is a French actress and model. She is famous for her role as Princess Gisela in the television series ‘Vikings’. Her parents are Seigner and Roman Polanski.

Some of the popular films she has appeared in are The Pianist, Oliver Twist, The Ghost Writer and Unhallowed Ground.

Although she has been in a handful of television films, she has many fans that love and respect her impeccable skills while on set.

Her followers and fans are no only in the industry but also on her social media pages. She prefers being in touch with her fans online and makes very limited media or public appearances.

5. Jade Jagger-Paris

Next on the lists is Jade, a prominent British home and jewellery designer and is a former model. She was born to Mick Jagger a musician and his wife Bianca Jagger in Paris.

They moved a lot when she was still a child because of her parent’s careers, they were always on the road.

She loved art at a young age and was taught how to paint by Andy Warhol in the 1970s. Jade started painting when she became a teenager and organized art exhibitions in the 1980s.

When she turned 20, she became more interested in jewellery designing and did part-time home designing. She took on designing luxury apartments all over the world.

Her best works are in Mumbai (Jade Towers) and New York. Other than working as a designer, she has walked the runway as a lingerie model.

6. Kathie Lee Gifford-Paris

Kathie Lee Gifford is an American television presenter, singer, songwriter, occasional actress and author who was born in Paris. She is famously known for her talk show to live that ran for 15 years. She co-hosted it with Regis Philbin.

Gifford also had another long-running show in NBC’s Today show together with Hoda Kotb.

Kathie has won several nominations from Daytime Emmy nominations and won her first Daytime Emmy in 2010 as part of the today team. She has released studio albums and written books too.

In 2015 Kathie was initiated into the Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame. She was been chosen to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020.

7. Julie Delpy-Paris

She is a French-American actress, a film director, screenwriter, and singer/songwriter. her first appearance in a film was when she was 12.

She moved to the United States in 1990 and went to New York Tisch School of the Arts to study filmmaking.

Julie has appeared in more than 30 movies and received nominations for three Cesar Awards, two Online Film Critics Society Awards and two Academy Awards.

She became an American citizen in 2001 after moving from France in 1990. Julie became an American citizen in 2001.

8. Herve Villechaize- Paris

Herve Villechaize was a French American actor who is best remembered for his roles as the evil henchman, Nick Nack, in the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. His other popular television series was Fantasy Island as Tattoo.

Herve was born with proportionate dwarfism condition and faced several challenges growing up and in his career.

He loved painting and learnt this art at ‘École des Beaux-Arts’. His work was the first ever to be displayed at the museum of Paris as the youngest artist.

After moving to New York, he got into visual arts, appeared in a few off-Broadway productions and later on to films and television series.

9. Bilal Hassani- Paris

Bilal Hassani is a famous French singer-songwriter and social media star. He represented France in the 64th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, an annual international song competition.

His creativity was further elevated by his huge social media presence that earned him a spot in the competitions.

He made it to the finals and finished in the 16th position, the finals were held in Tel Aviv in Israel.

His debut album, Kingdom, was released in 2019 and was number 24 on the French Albums Chart. Popular singles that he has released include Heaven with You, House Down, Mash Up and Hot City.

10. Lily-Rose Depp- Paris

Lily-Rose Melody Depp, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis daughter, is a French-American actress and model.

She had her first successful modelling campaign for Chanel aged 16 for the fragrance Chanel No. 5. Lily-Rose also became the face of the Pearl eyewear collection.

As part of the Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss campaign cast, Lily-Rose was the youngest ambassador in history.

She has been featured in both British and French Vogue covers and debuted in a Canadian Horror film that premiered in the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
