2. Le Mont St. Michel

Thinking of small heaven here on earth? Le Mont St. Michel is a very popular island village that has been surrounded by water located in Normandy. The area was once a medieval pilgrimage site and its 10th-century abbey remains high on top. During the high tide, the place is magical but the water can flood and cause the roads to be closed several times a year. The journey would take about 62 Euros with about 50 Euros on a high-speed train and 12 Euros on a bus. The total time for the traveling is about three hours.
